AKAI-Pro had released some good VST effects but already discontinued.

big manufacturers are focussing on hardware synth and place softsynths as for entry users i think. unforunately, there are not so many commercial vst manufacturers like NI in japan.

NI, IK, USB, Waves, Steinberg... they are also very popular in japan.

but, what's about all the small freeware (and shareware) plugin builders ?
do you know a big japanese "meeting" site where we may download their creations ?
do you know any japanese vstbuilders and/or vst(i) which are unknown on KVR ?

unfortunately, there are no big community about vst developping in japan.
i think almost japanese freewares/sharewares are already introduced in KVR database.

I haven't tried any of these instruments yet. There are some that look very interesting indeed. If I think any are really good, I'll let you know.

This is a brilliant tool, very useable indeed. I haven't figured out everything yet - when you have an inactive circle (step) on a preset, I can't figure out how to activate it yet. Also, since FL studio 8 won't let you move a synth up past the top 20% of the page, I can't quite see the bottom of this large synth. Nevertheless, even though it looks like a toy, it is one of the best VSTs I have. If anyone can figure it out, I'd love to see more info here. It has quite a meaty sound and I would have no hesitation about using it is professional work.

Among the other things listed above, you get the impression that the Japanese are keen on sequencers. So am I, and have been talking to DSK about designing a new instrument. I love his Oranze - among my freeware VST's, it is one of the few I use all the time and it is quite good enough for professional music.

Saxi. It's in the data base and made by a Japanese saxophonist and admirer of John Coltrane. It's a terrific little instrument and for some things far superior to Linplug's saxlab. Give it a try.
