a noisy pc input? noisy cable? bad connections within the gutar/bass?
Hi starcraft..yes, i will have to seriously think about my next step as regards getting rid of my noise problems, but I did want to get active pick-ups anyway even if I didnt have the sound problem, its a good move either way...

Post

I've just uploaded the updated version.

..Thanks a lot Ben!!...

..for anyone interested, this update corrects a few slightly out of tune samples and includes an overall global re-tuning of -15 cents....

...thanks to scifiartman for pointing out the problem out to me.. :tu:

Hi star craft..
I have narrowed the problem down to my PC because the noise problem is present when I plug my bass in too although it wasn't as noticeable because I didn't have any applied distortion on the bass signal..
So as I said before I think that some active pickups will take care of the noise interference...Its definitely a power problem because when I touch my strings the noise disappears but then fades back in after I let a chord ring out a little..
I'm hoping to upgrade my PC and get new pickups in the not too distant future but the PC might not look likely until after the new year.. :?

I also thought the problem might be power related because here in Sweden the wall power sockets and plugs are different to my native Ireland and don't seem to have a built in ground so maybe there is a simple solution that I have overlooked as I am not 100% familiar with the system...
So if there is anyone from continental Europe who might have some tips please let me know.. maybe I could get some kind of eliminator?

I just got into this, it's pretty neat. I like the mute style. I noticed the low open E and high E weren't in tune with each other, I do have the update with the corrected pitches but I just installed the old one.

Is there going to be a bass version?

Hi RunBeerRun...
Glad you like it.. :)
The corrected pitch update is the exact same as the first one so you should be able to just replace it in your plug-in folder and anything you were working on will load up just the same..

Yes, I will still do the bass version but it might be a while, not because it would take a lot of work but because I have some other things going on right now which are taking up my time...

I have a mailing list so if you want to be added just PM me your name and e-mail address (or use the contact box on the site..) and I will send you a mail when the bass version is done..

I think I'm already on the email list, yeah I remember you posting in the instruments forum and I went and filled it out.

That's cool there could be a bass plugin, I'm in no rush, I'm swimming in cool vst's already.'

We want glide :hihi:

Post

I'm waiting on a new guitar then I plan on updating these mofos..might take a while though..

glide you say?.. explain thyself.. :P

Post

I imagine glide would need a synth engine, it could go parallel with the sample engine. If that be the case, having a synth engine that complimented guitar samples would be a challenge.

Hope to see you in the dev chal again!

...well actually a sample CAN be "glided" ! You just have to modify the playing speed which represents the frequency of its fundamental. Lots of samplers have glide. :)
