Maybe you can get a better deal at esoundz but ST 2.1 XL is only US $10 less than Kontakt 2 at audiomidi.com and if you already own it and are not covered by the grace period the UB version is US $29.dougsyo wrote: However, ST2LE is not alone, as NI Kompakt, Intakt and Kontakt players for various libraries are not being ported to UB either. People wanting to use these libraries on Intel-Mac's have to upgrade Kontakt2, a much bigger ticket than ST2 is (and no Squids or epointz, either). This is why EastWest has built their own player (ew Pace!) and some other sample developers were looking for coders as well.

Also maybe worth mentioning is that some of the older libraries that used the Kontakt player are getting updated to the Kontakt Player 2. Yes, it's not the Kompakt or Intakt players but it's a start.
Also FWIW Battery 3 or Kontakt 2 handle Intakt content fairly well.
Not to leave SR out ST 2.1 XL is probably still my favorite RAM based sampler followed by the NN-XT.

I love Sonik Synth, you could mix up to 16 instruments together and put up to 32 effects on each instrument. What I hate is the fact that I have to click on the arrows one by one at the side of every instrument that I load to close the menu back up. It really takes away from the fun of using it. It would be nice if they came up with an update to fix that. An update including a big arrow saying "Collapse Structure of Close All". That would be really nice. Another thing would be to add detune to the effects. That's what gives synths that beefy sound. It would really add to the posibilities of creating unique new instruments of your own. I hope IK takes that into consideration!

Yes, I agree. Those are good ones. I want the collapse all in there too. As far as detune, well you do have chorus in there. But, actually there's something cool I can do for the next big SS2 update that people might like. It'd be doubling certain synths to be multi oscillator internally and then set up a macro to do detune and pan spreading. That might be convenient and fun (plus different than a chorus). The only thing is it would take up twice the polyphony but it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't do it for every sound. Mostly for raw waves probably... but if there's any sound anyone wants to request I do a detune feature like that for just let me know and I'll make a list.lexluscious1 wrote:I love Sonik Synth, you could mix up to 16 instruments together and put up to 32 effects on each instrument. If I understand what you are saying, you'd like to reinitialize SS2 to the empty state. I don't have SS2 on this computer but I do have ST2--maybe it's the same: I made a blamk preset called "1 initialize." That way it's at the top of the combi list, easy to access. The only thing it does besides emptying all instruments is to set all the midi channels to 1, which I usually prefer. Would this work for SS2?
