Hey guys,

I thought I'd promote an EP I just released, with 4 tracks, free for download.

It is highly C64 retro but I use a lot of Zebra 2, PWM waveforms and the arpeggiator to simulate or recreate the C64 SID chip. (Thats why the arpeggio improvement requests...) Also some QuadraSID for some leads/fx and a sampled real C64 for layered beats inbetween.

In the "Live The Future" track all the synths are Zebra 2, except the somewhat obvious Last Ninja sample :)

Also "Katoku Pokus" is pretty much Z2 for the synths. The two others have Z2s all over the place too 8)

Thanks for a great and super flexible synth!

Ok, so I'm sitting here with my subwoofer CRANKED and I'm loving this!

My favorite song in here is most definitely Katoku Pokus. Just love the bass in there, and hey the instrumentation is great too!

In fact, I'd love to stick Katoku Pokus in a podcast I'm hosting next month, at Aftershock Promotions. Would that be ok?

All I can say is WOW!!! The synths just sound amazing!

That's great stuff you have there!

Maybe I could also mention that my recently released free
"mini-album" has Zebra2, MFM2 and Filterscape all over it!
You can even spot many presets on the tracks, well I've
bought the sound expansion packs, so why not use them. :P

:P

It's sort-of bad form to promote your own stuff within someone else's promotional thread!

Start your own! :hihi:

But I love them both. 8)

no prob with the promo within the promo within someone's product forum... ;) i was even a bit unsure if to promote my own stuff but i used a lot of zebra so i reckoned it is also zebra-promotion :)

i also used a few presets, with slight tweaking. some of the xfm example presets by Urs himself seriously rock.

Well yes, I did consider own thread too, but it might serve good purposes also here. Thanks for not considering it as intrusion! :P

I really dig this.

Might be cool to have a sticky thread for people to post their music which Zebra featured prominently in.

This is damn good stuff!! I know a couple of guys who would love to play these tracks on their radioshow (http://www.slayradio.org - home of the c64 remixes and whatnot). If you're ok with that?

This is fantastic retro-electro stomp. I used to be in the c64-remix scene a couple of years back under name "MistaDistah" :) I never knew what I was doing back then, but this is fantastic original retro, I know this much. I want more.

Hey planet_b, I've just sent you a pm about one of your tracks.

Just listened to Superballoon's NinjaEP -> :-o That's phantastic! Love that big sound in Katoku Pokus!

Hehe, does anyone remember that super-early C64 music player with mostly Jarre and Vangelis tunes? It had Blade Runner, Spiral, Equinoxe 4 (I think)... That was even before the arpeggios but still...

;) Urs
