Thanks for the zip version kx77free,
i've got it working now
first impressions are that it sound pretty good (Only tweaked a few knobs so far),
the presets sound useful also.
I'll dig into properlly over the coming days, i'm looking forward to finding all it's hidden depths
cheers

Hi,
Thanks
I made it in 3 months.
It's not easy to develop quickly for the KVR DC.

----Aww come on now Xavier, look at it this way, there are some entries that aren't getting talked about at all, so at least yours is getting noticed. And I think quite a few people are liking it, whether they know about your coding and stuff or not. Let's just try to stay positive all around eh.

Hi,
Ok, you right, I will edit my post.

This synth is remarkable -- the amount of control is astonishing. How you were able to fit everything into that size GUI using panels is also impressive. My one complaint is that I wish there were knobs to edit the levels in KX-Wavetracer; having to type them in is a little frustrating. Of course, it would also be ideal if there was a visualization (even if it was very low quality) of the resulting waveform.
Anyway, thanks for your work on this.

I'm one of the users that don't like setup-files, but I just wanted to let you know I'll be spending some time with this. Thanks for the zip!

Hi,
thanks
I agree that the kxwavetracer Gui is not really fun...
I fact, when I make a waveform, I use this kind of values :
0.333, 0.666, 0.25 etc... and I cut and paste.
the level values are in fact :
level value * (1/number of harmonic).
-1 = inversion of phase
by this way you can make a saw waveform only with few 1.
*****
Level of the LFO waveforms (wavetracer):
You must use a precise main level value (around +5.00/-5.00 volts) only for the LFO waveforms because it is more easy to control the pitch of an oscillator
eg: -5/+5 volt (lfo output) multiplied by 0.4 (4 with the SE convention value) = +2/-2 volts = +2/-2 octaves.
and the mixer modulation is based on a positive offset of 5 volts to avoid the modulation of the level with negative values (out of phase !)
I notify that I should write a process to detect the peak values of lfo waveforms... but it was more easy for me to use a fixed value.
To verify the main waveform volume quickly, you can use the LOW mode.

Hi,
I updated my setup.exe
It's available on my site. http://kx77free.free.fr
Now, it detects the current system disk and installs the KXDATAS folder on the root directory.
The bug when the user uses another system disk than C:\ (and the Kxdatas folder is not installed) is solved.

What a solid sounding synth. I'm on my second go round with the DC entries and this time KX-MODULAD really stood out.
Thank you for all the work you've put into this, including the well worth exploring preset bank. This instrument stays on my HD (and I don't mean the archive HD). So much here to explore.

Good news!
I updated the kx-Modulad and the KxWaveTracer.exe program.
Now the kxwavetracer works fine when you place the KXDATAS folder on another path than "C:\"
The new files are available on my site : http://kx77free.free.fr

cut and paste of the kxwavetrcer thread:
Hi,
The Sub wave uses the same lookuptable index than the waveforms!
The sub wave uses the same number of harmonics than the current waveforms 1 & 2 !
If you use the Sub with inferior range, the Sub brightness is less than the waveforms...
To listen a result of the KxWaveTracer.exe, you should listen the wave with a waveform output (wf1 or wf2).
Oscillator parameters:
1-2 is the mix between the WF1 and the WF2.
Sub is the mix between the Sub and the 1-2 waveforms.
e.g.:
If you want listen only the Sub, set Sub at max.
If you want listen only the wf1, set Sub at min and adjust 1-2 to the left.
etc...
Mixer parameters:
The main output (WF1+WF2+SUB) is called 1-2.
eg: the Vco1 main output is called Vco1 1-2 .
The second output is called Width.
eg: the Vco1 second output is called Vco1 Width .
e.g: adjust the level of the 1-2 source to Vcfs or Vca...
Mixer features:
It has 6 sources: Noise, Vco1 1-2, Vco2 1-2, Ring, Vco1 Width, Vco2 width
and three destinations: Vcf1, Vcf2, Vca.
Each source can modulate the three destinations !
The Noise has an EQ.
You can mute the vca output with the vca switch but this output is always active in the Fx section.
All mixer voices can be modulated by the Envelope Generators and the Lfos.
*****
Why ?
In a classic oscillator, we obtain a PW signal with a mix of a saw waveform
and a saw waveform inverted.
If you use a saw waveform with the WF1 and a saw waveform with the WF2,
the Width output will be a perfect PW signal and you could adjust the width
with the Width parameter.
In fact, the WF2 signal is inverted and added to the WF1 signal...
and the " Width " parameter is an adjustment of the WF2 phase.
The " Phase " parameter is a global phase adjustment, it controls the phase of the two waveforms (1-2).
The Sub phase is not affected by these two parameters, "Phase" and " Width"!
*****
I hope that help you...
The Kx-Modulad is a tool for sound designers and I think that the user can learn its features, I hope.

Hi,
The KVR's zip was updated (19 Mo)...
Now you can choice to install the KX-modulad with the setup or you can use the zip file.
If you use a modem you can choice the setup.exe (7.5mo) or the zip file (12.4 mo) on my site:
******************
I read this in a FL forum:
Please read my infos text !!!
With a CPU +/-< 1.7ghz (true speed), please, you should use the presets in mono mode.
Push on the button " All Presets Mono" or use a large ASIO buffer.
******************
Notes about the Sub oscillator:
Several weeks ago, I made a mistake with the range of Sub oscillators...
The -2 range octave is false, in fact, the real value is the F note of the -2 octave, the fondamental frequency is divided by 3. The fondamental is the third harmonic of the sub oscillator when you use this value.
The -3 octave range value is, in fact, -2 octave.
I thought you listened this difference already!
I didn't change these values to keep the compatibility with the presets, perhaps I will change the text of the list.

Hi,
The No SSE DLL inside the zip file had a problem...
I just updated my zip file and my setup...
They are available on my site:
http://kx77free.free.fr

In fact, I added the 22 new presets in the Kx-Modulad and provide a new bank:
59 new presets!.
This Bank is included inside the zip or the setup.exe but you can download it with this link:
Bank02-59-22-presets-waveform-presets.zip
I also modified the text of the Sub list.
