Toontrack.com has a Free VSTi midi player that can be used to audition and select a drum groove to be used with YFDS (Your Favorite Drum Sampler). In this case it almost does the job e.g. it allows you to name directories with midi drum loops; select each; and play them thru the sampler. This part is pretty neat. It also boasts that you can drag and drop a chosen midi loop into a midi track. It looks like the drag part works but the drop is not accepted in Luna.

Will this feature be part of the new deal?

It's on the whishlist, but not yet in the pipeline.
