Wineasio can have some things done better than in Windows. For me win version of EnergyXT2 and Sonar4 work splendid under winesaio. Traction3 and Reason4 (yes - with many problems but it runs) needs big (over 512 samples) buffer to not crackle. Then there are lots of options to tweak and new version of wine to come.
Wineasio feels like it's something on an edge of becoming really good alternative to Windows even including DAWs. Perhaps it will happen in a next week, perhaps in 5 years. But it's already in such sophisticated state it feels almost as sure bet.
