Hello.

OK, so you got Modelonia/ESC fixed in regards to the sound engine. However, now another major problem has cropped up.

I cannot load in individual presets (fxp) files in ESC/vsti converter. I can use any host (Savihost, Sonar, etc) and load and save fxp files. So, I used a host to make new Modelonia presets and saved them as fxp files - a whole bunch of them. They load fine in other hosts, but when I try to load those same fxp files in ESC, it tells me it's the wrong file size and fails to load. I need to either convert the existing presets and scrap the ones I created, or I need to get this fixed post haste!

I cannot continue and my deadline is approaching FAST (due by the 8th)!

Me no ObiWan but have an idea you could try. Will MiniHost put together a usable bank with those .fxp for you? One you can then import with ESC?

While that was an excellent suggestion and it did work (I was able to make a bank using one of my already owned tools), Modelonia is still not converting properly. It is so damn weird!

I set it to record (in ESC) and it records nothing. It goes through all the motions, but there are no or few samples. I can tell because it goes too quickly through the motions. Right now, it is hit or miss with LOTS of synths, not just Modelonia, but I just cannot tell when I will get a good conversion or not.

This is just too difficult - it should be easier than this!!!!!

Is there an ESC forum? I need to talk to them about this.

I would suggest to email Wlodzimierz directly about your problem ... usually he answers within 48 hours ...

[edit]I just tried the v1.2 demo, and you are right, it does not work, then I quickly wrapped it with mGUI with "Template_MW" and the wrapper DOES work in ExSC

Could you lead me through that?

I did already email wlod - and 48 hours is a bit too much to wait for me right now - deadline quickly approaching.

If you would, please explain the mgui procedure.

I am confused. What exactly is mgui? I downloaded it and have no idea what to do. What is an asseca vsti (one you converted or something)? ESC is not a vst - it's a stand alone program.

mGUI is a generic programmable VST plugin which can perform several "tricks", one of these tricks is to wrap another VST plugin, and modify the functionality of that wrapped plugin ...

First follow the procedure (steps 1 thru 5) in this thread,
then:

in mGUIman right-click on Plugins in the left tree-view
click Add...
click on the top Browse button and locate the Modelonia.dll
in Ini Template: select Template_MW
in Skin Template: select MWvauto-asBlack
use the bottom Browse and select the save folder equal to the original Modelonia.dll's folder
click OK
the wrapped DLL will be named Modelonia_MW.dll

That may have worked! It seemed to grab the audio correctly. Now I am converting it to a WusikSND file and see if it works. If so, then I have to wrap all of the vsti's in question.

So far, it's working like a charm for Modelonia. I will bring them into Wusik and see how they sound, but from the file sizes, I can see it's working.

Hi Mike:

Did you write to Wlod at ESC too, or just post here?

I will alert him, but, seeing as he confirmed the previous problem was an ESC bug, it is highly probable that that is a related problem in ESC.

In the meantime, continue using a wrapper plug like asseca suggested.

It stopped working. After about 4 presets, it stops working and now gives me the same problem as not using the wrapper.

Yes, I did email him and he replied - and I replied with ANOTHER bug I found.

Sheesh - you'd think people would find these bugs!!!

Yes, but just to be clear, these are bugs in ESC, not Modelonia (it could be confusing from your post title, for instance).

Anyway, I hope Wlod can get it sorted out soon.
