That would be amazing if it could be configurable that way.
architexture wrote:The dist algos are a little weak around the edges. no tube screamer ,death metal ,metal zone, boogie, fuzzface sounds . Lotsa warm tubey goodness tho . Enough punch truly , but it could be a little better .
True - there are many different ways that people apply distortion and maybe covering a few more bases would be good.
architexture wrote:look at an mxr compressor . It makes your axe suuuuuuuuuuuuuuustain . I would like a little more of that in the onboard comp.
All of the sounds in FA2 are a little too heavily gated for my liking, so anything that could improve this would be great.

Other than that, FA2 is pretty amazing, so anything that improves on that would be very welcome.

While I love playing through free amp when I'm noodling, I don't use it for recording much because it doesn't sound "bright" enough, even with the eq cranked. Maybe I'm trying to say it sounds muddy when playing clean (without distortion effects). That would be my only criticism of the otherwise awesome set of amps/eq/effects.

And while the Synth section is cool, I don't think it's necessary to FreeAmp. If you could make it a seperate plug by itself, that would be awesome. Called it Guitsynth or something fun like that :) I'm sure whatever you come up with, I'll end up downloading and using in some context. Thank you for all your hard work, and please keep it up!

PS - You should make a EH Graphic Fuzz type of plug-in! Something that just turns your guitar sound into a bunch of super-compressed square waves. :D Kind of like a Fender Blender crossed with a zipper on a pair of jeans. :tu:

Bump

Any news on how freeamp 3 is progressing?

I like Fretted Synth's stuff. Free Amp is very good. I use it for my guitar, and I like the sound of the distortion.

:-) little over a year now? was shocked to see the thread come up also ?

But great timing, I finally got a working version of the amp section going last night at 3:00 in the morning :-) 26 preamps, 8 eq's, 2 power amps and 24 guitar and bass cabinets.
The Output FX are done, still a bit of work to do on the pedals. All are selectable for there order 4pedal and 4 rack slots :-) (the #1 request since freeamp1)

For the amp I will finish the bass cabs and eq over the next week or so, then will finally start to put it all together :-)
Thanks everyone for the nice comments of FA2, I think the new amp should cover almost all that prople have asked for ? if not with what I have learned from this V4 will be much quicker :-)

Peace
Fretted Synth

Ah, I was newlywed, then. I'm not surprised that interest in Freeamp3 hasn't died, though. :hihi:

Wow! Freeamp3 is really coming? Can't wait to find out what you've done with it. 26 pre-amps! Woot!

As long as we still have access to Freeamp 2 (just for completeness' sake) and FreeAmp3 is not that CPU intensive... hm... then this sure sounds interesting what you wrote earlier, FrettedSynth. (meaning... tons of amps)

If you run out of descriptive names for the amps as you move ahead, I'd like to lobby for the following:

a clean amp : Capatown
a dirty amp that cleans up well : Pone Tony
an amp with a bit of wah or squishiness : Wa Da Tah

...all stolen from Pootie Tang

:hihi:

Don't forget "Crowny Town" for a clean, bell-like tone. :hihi:
