If you're into building things, try the MIDIBox SID. Very controllable, lots of modulation, as many SIDs as you feel like, and cheap (~$100 with a SID, other components, boards, and a nice case).

It's not the simplest thing to build, but plenty of people with no experience manage to build one.

Odo, you might be correct, but QuadraSID sounds fantastic to my ears, problem is, it is impossible to program, might not be different than the actual C64, but I never knew how to use it anyhow (SID-chip).

If you make a version of UnknownC64 for Mac Intel I would appreciate it, but I know SynthEdit isnt on the mac so.....until then its QuadraSID for me all the way. The Zebra 2 has some possibilites for SID-ish sounds too Ive heard, but I have yet to get to grips with Z2 even though it is very intuitive.

QuadraSId uses the same tecnieks as a real c64 And it's hard to program .My c64 synths uses also the tecnieks but i think its easyer

Im completely sold on this MIDI-BOX C64, coolest thing Ive seen this century, I must have mine done, just so happens I have a busted C64 in the basement (+1 working as well
