Hi folks,

I've a question for folks who use Receptor. Is it possible to control a channel's mixer with MIDI CCs (specifically, MIDI control of levels and bypass) while also using some other CCs to send directly to a VSTi plugin on that channel? I want to use Synful Orchestra, which has a hardwired CC11 control for the instrument's expression. I also want to be able to control bypass by sending the appropriate CC. As far as I know, Synful doesn't post its internal parameters to the host, so there's no way to 'Receptorize' control via NRPN messages.

My other question is whether the UniWire protocol is an open standard? I'd love to be able to link a Receptor up to my live looper, Freewheeling, on Mac or Linux. But to do this I'd need access to the UniWire spec. Can someone at Muse comment on this?

All this for me determines whether to go with a Receptor or to roll-my-own rackmount Linux audio box (with VSTs under energyXT2 and Wine). The application is live improvisation with looping.

Thanks,
-JP Mercury
