Hello all

Anyone had any issues with using this on Receptor? I'm seriously interested in buying this as long as there are no problems.

I just checked it out at sonicprojects.ch and the demos are very impressive. Any opinions of established users?

Don't know about Receptor, but the OP-X VSTi has quickly become a favourite for me, it sits better in a rock mix than most of my other (mostly commercial) synths.
I'm mainly a rock-pop-country person though, so beware, ymmv.
Stringer is well worth checking out, too, if you're into vintage string ensembles.

I use this on Receptor with no problems whatsover. Just need to install by the 'unsupported medthod', which may report that installation failed, but once you restart receptor it loads up fine.

Hi Everyone,

OP-X sounds great on Receptor. It is one of my 'go-to' synths for Analog.

Keep in mind - The newest version has an authorization scheme that currently prevents OP-X from loading on Receptor. If you specify to SonicProjects that you are running on Receptor, they will send you a variant image without the authorization.

I'll second what Kevin said.
OP-X is always in my 'multi' and has never crashed my rev C receptor.
It's so much fun to play with and sounds fantastic!

Hi all 8) - yes, there's an extra receptor compatible version ready which is already optimized for receptor installation - just contact by email before or after purchasing the standard version - we don't charge any extra cost for the receptorized version - we really want to support this cool live tool as good as possible

O-X Pro is simply an outstanding plugin! It sounds just like the real thing... and sometimes better... especially when you add effects. The new patch library is awesome... and it sounds great on my Receptor Rev. B. I also have a Receptor Pro.... and on the Pro I use two instantiations; OP-X Pro and OP-X Version 2. Because OP-X is soooo good, I have stopped using Albino and Minimonsta... and they were two of my favorite plugins. OP-X Pro does almost everything that Minimonsta does... and everything that Albino does when you have 2 instantiations playing complementary patches on the same midi channel. Sometimes, I use OP-X Pro with Ableton Live without going through my Receptor. It works fine, but it actually sounds better when running on the Receptor. I don't know why it sounds better, but it does. I am using an RME Fireface 800 as my sound card.

I know there have been lots of posts on this but I have to echo the praise. I use it in my Receptor and this plug is OUTSTANDING!!! It sounds great, it's light on the CPU and any questions or support issues I have are always handled quickly and professionally. This is a no brainer. I really like my Pro-53 but if I had purchased OP-X before Pro-53, I am not sure I would have purchased the Pro. You HAVE to buy it!

Yes... Peter at SonicProjects is very dedicated to make this the best plugin around. When they first introduced the OP-X is was OK, but used a lot of CPU and the patch library was pretty straight forward, but not exciting. SonicProjects has constantly improved OP-X by reducing the CPU draw and providing exciting patches. With the advent of OP-X Pro the whole picture gets even better and sounds are phatttttter than ever. This is now my main plugin, bar none! Great job, Peter!

I bought a Receptor+Komplete so I already have Reaktor up and running on my Receptor. I'm not clear on the differences between the $49 OP-X Reaktor ensemble and the standalone OP-X Pro application. Are there significant advantages to OPX-Pro?

Post

Hi Guys - first of all thanks for all the kind words!
I'm not clear on the differences between the $49 OP-X Reaktor ensemble and the standalone OP-X Pro application. Are there significant advantages to OPX-Pro?
The PRO has got a lot of additional features compared to the basic versions (which include the reaktor version), e.g. multimode filters, tuning trimpots, new modulation rountings etc. which greatly expand the palette of possible sounds - evidence for this is the patches library which contains more than 700 patches

As Farhan said, OP-X, OP-X PRO as well as Stringer are officially supported now by Muse Reserach (specialized installers) - trial versions, licenses and crossgrades are available on plugorama:
www.plugorama.com

As it used to be in the past, crossgrades from the the PC-versions to Receptor are still free!

Peter, if OP-X PRO has multimode filters I've got to have it - is there an upgrade path from the original?

Yes, there is - you can get the PRO for just $49 as an OP-X owner - in my opinion anyway a "must" for OP-X owners (but obviously still not known enough): upgrade

How do you set the arpeggiator tempo?
