There is a TRue-808 & TRue-909 in the pipeline if you like to colour the true sound of this boxes. And its dead serious sampling involved... ;)

I'm sorry but the last thing anyone needs is another set of 808/909 samples. STOP ALREADY!

Post

Seriously. At this point there's so many free sample sets on the internet as well as enough realistic and free vsts that there's no reason anyone should actually have to pay to get 808 and 909 sounds.

Post

Did someone already released 808/909 samples??? :-o :?: ;)

We believe that nobody has released any Sample Set giving the real boxes a match, and that is a fact, I know, I own them both.

If you have a library to point out, please give me a link.

What we want to do is to make a library that makes the owner of the real thing put the hardware on Ebay, yesterday... :)

I think these boxes are worth a _real_ sampling treatment once and for all.

So, we are working on it, despite the fact that there all ready is a huge amount of "TR" samples around.

Best regards,

Lars Westin

Yes please, give us a link (preferably free samples).

You guys must be high or something:

There's one that has both of them, in excellent quality, for a very reasonable price. Or here's some free ones:

Or here's some VA drums synths, free and commercial, most of which tout a 909 or 808 sound:

Goldbaby released his Tape 808 library last month. The demos sound nice. One of the better 808 libraries.

I tend to agree with what most people have said here about not needing any more 909/808 sounds. Having said that, I'd be interested to hear what precisionsound are thinking of doing that will make their sample sets better than the hundreds of others already available.

I must admit that also there is a ton of DAMN shit out there regarding TR samples. Some are overcompressed some does have weird distortion some are damn shit just in start  But that is reason why i ordered Drumazon ;)

Anyway for users like Reason users (they dont have ability to run VSTi) or similar a good one TR sample set is needed IMO. If that guy can deliver that then fine. Go ahead!

Really high end converters would be needed on a source to be anywhere near true...that goes for sampling anything else really. But yeah if I wanted a 909 or 808 sound I'd use samples or VST's etc like everyone else....I had all the hardware clones (Jomox, Novation etc) in the past and have sampled them...I tend to use them.

End of the day in a mix no one would notice....and thats before the track gets MP3'd , squished and all the other downgraded crap that we all have to put up with.

Of course if they are any good I'd buy em lol,

Cheers.

Could you give any details on what treatment youre giving the 808,909 (ad's ,dithering, cables etc) that make it special?

Thanks

I agree that there are loads of 808/909 sounds already and they sound great to me!

I think in order to make a good sample library of 808/909 sounds and (making them the most accurate samples available) You would need top equiptment. The best analog cable running straight to a top of the line Apoggee ADAC running into ProTools digitally at 24-Bit 192Khz.

And even, do you really think you'd shift enough units to make it worth your while given it's only just another 909 library at the end of the day.

I honestly agree about the huge amount of 808/909 samples being available out there. To those mentioned we could add also Soniccouture free 808/909 kits.

I loved when Precisionsound sampled the autovari and the retro gadgets. I really think your efforts could be focused on sampling stuff thats not available commonly to people, because its very old or quite rare. There are lot of old synths/keyboards out there that I would happily see sampled with a professional appeal and put to downloadable package. Lot of cheap/toys stuff too.

my 2 cents

Vintage Machines 1 by modernbeats has all the Roland drum machines and more, I believe they are recorded through an ssl desk but not sure on the converters, they sound like 808's and 909's to me. The goldbaby kits sound really good, really like the mpc60 ones and most importantly they are doing something different. Perhaps a sound set of all the jomox machines would actually be more interesting, don't believe there are any perfessional products of these and im sure for you would sell more.
