Never more than 20 but usually between 10 and 16. Some tracks will have 3 to 7 instruments on them though. I also use tons of bus channels but I don't think those really count as tracks because they are only for routing purposes.

150 and 211! :o and I thought I was indulgent using up to around 40 sometimes.

only one was that big, the average was much lower, and i just counted all the tracks so loads of mine will be automation and stuff.

if i had individual samples on tracks rather than create each one individually i guess i could have hundreds, but as it is i build the samples over time then load em into one stereo out sampler with fx in line and what you hear is a one shot recording, if i f**k up i start again...
the rare times i use sequencing these days i do use a fair few tracks but i dont think ive ever passed 100, more if i was going to count automation as tracks...
:ud:

i normally have between 50 - 60 sperate channels...
maybe 10 for drums and percussion, 1 for bass, a couple for samples and the rest synths :)

pffh. it's probably dual-phase change cooled down to -50c for that kind of performance.

oh wait, just read the part about automation tracks and junk. makes more sense then...

The track I'm working on at the moment has 19 tracks so far - that's with drums, bass, guitars and guitar overdubs. The vocals still need to be recorded and I'm projecting another 5 to 6 tracks for vocals and vocal overdubs. So I'll probably end up with something like 24 tracks, which is what I usually get (most of my songs use 16 - 24 tracks). I'll rarely go higher unless there's a lot of different instruments playing.

I'm setting up a default template in live.As of right now 34 tracks.I've just discovered the resampling feature of live so i'm going to add tracks for submixing and resampling!

In general, when I make a submix...

Anyway, about 8 to 16 tracks. I'm such a control freak that I keep all of my drum sounds on one track, usually. ;)

For electronic stuff something like 10-20 tracks. With symphonic elements included it's about 20-60 tracks more depending on the size and scope of the orchestral elements. For rock based stuff about 20-30 is usually enough and for some ethnic and weird stuff maybe around 30 tracks.
