thanks for all the feedback. i'm going to look at all this tomorrow in more detail, but for now...
what use are the last 2 sliders on the top?
they scale the velocity and cc values. originally i thought it could be useful, but it may be that the plugin doesn't need them anymore. i'll label them, at least...
where can i find other svg icons? is there a free collection around? how can i create them?

i haven't tried too hard to find any yet, but you can make them in inkscape, which will also trace other images and convert them to svg so they'll be scalable.
midipads bug: the trigger note (note from external controller to trigger a pad) is not saved in the preset!!
this has been fixed since i uploaded the last version. it also holds multiple presets now, and some other small improvements.
the "mono option" could be set by default because poly mode is needed only when external midi triggering is used.
yes, if you drag away from the pad before releasing the mouse, the note will keep playing. i kind of like it that way, but i will add a "mono" mode.

didn't NicFit make one? http://asseca.com/nicfit/mfsyx.html
ok, i guess that doesn't record the data, but only sends it.

-PIKU- wrote:the color selection is nice but i think that selectable color for each pad\slider is the best. so there is no need of an icon to distinguish a pad from another...
i added this today.
-PIKU- wrote:an option to choose the number of pads to use. if it is too hard, fixed number of pads could be used (for example 4, 16, 64 pads\sliders). the 4pad setup is usefull using sliders, because many times there is no need of a large number (=large space on monitor\touch monitor) of controllers.
i'll make a few configurations that you can choose between. maybe 1, 4, 16, and 64 to start with. i can always add more. and i could easily have other arrangements, like two big pads with three sliders, or whatever...

i added the "mono mode" today as well.

i just noticed that it crashes if i close the plugin window while a menu is showing, so i want to fix that before uploading it again. i'm also trying to get the text to scale nicely and address a few other graphical issues.
-PIKU- wrote:why not to integrate the trollo like idea with the easy transpose (ranspose by octave clicking or touching pads) and with the resizable keyboard.
i think i like this idea. i will come back to this later.

bug report midipads: i'm using midipads as a xy controller . i use a single pad so i decided to set the slider mode to get the greatest size possible for a pad (waiting for a 1pad only mode!!!)

i'm controlling low pass filter in refined audiometrics plpareq - x=frequency y=gain

if i hold the left button pressed (finger on screen in my case) i can change x or y values even if i go out of the range of the pad or of the plugin window. it's great but it does not work if i go under the pad, in this case no movement is registered.
please fix this bug

midipad bug: when i close and reopen the plugin window using pads as xy controllers the dots do not keep their previous positions an send midi data of their new (unwanted) position.

thanks, i don't know why i didn't notice that. i typed 'x' instead of 'y' in one place.

i am planning on making it remember the position of each dot, but that'll take a little longer.

it's not necessary that the dots remember their position... the problem is that if i close anr reopen the plug windows the new midi data (relative to the position of the dot) is sent

the last link doen't work...but i tryed the new features.
i'm testing the 1pad setup. it's amazing , it sends midi even if i go under the limit of the window. but i noiced that if i close the plug window, after reopening the plug doesn't send continuous cc datas but only on mouse release. the pad seems to remember dot position and do not send unwanted midi after reopening, so he previous problem is solved... but there is that ano6her bug. i'm using energy xt2 as vst and standalone.

a little suggestion: some mouse drivers and some touchscreen kits(like mine) have a slow refresh rate. the mouse position is refreshed at 35ms intervals. a cc smother algorithm could be added as an option for single pads.

at the moment i'm recording a song using 2 midipad plugins as midi controllers
he second is in 1pad mode and i use it as a xy surface. i use soma cc glider to smooth the movements. it's a nice plugin. you could implement the same algorithm but with a single fixed "timeup\timedown" setup (pretty fast... the minimum enough th smooth the signal). or you coul use a lowpass filter like in acousmodules midiplug-cs2

Blimey. This has really achieved what I've been hoping would happen with musical electronics for 17 years.

Happily, I look like a maniac with a VR glove on one hand and whacking on a monitor face with the other.

i'm using midipads inside xt2 vst inside nuendo... and still everytime i open the plug window unwanted midi datas are sent.
i don't succeed in changing the name of pads.

i think that solving some bugs and adding a 64 pad mode this plug is complete.

Post

many touch screen kits use "automatic touch time" to trigger the classig right-click of mouse.
this means that if i hold my finger on the screen for a selected time (i choose 400ms) the right click will be triggered.
when i use xy pads in midipads sometimes i leave the finger unmoved (for musical motivations) and i get unwanted option pad window opening. everytime i use midipads i have to disactivate the right click function from control panel in winxp...

could you add an easily accesible button on the top of the plug (with the menu and color selection) to turn on\off the right click for opening option windows of the pads?

Post

this option could be placed in menu section... it's not a prblem
