Try something like Sonicbytes Phrazor (FX version) as a sub-host.

I really just want a Vocoder for some vocals ~ Phrazer is whole lot of other functions, and there are a couple of Vocoder VST's that are supposed to work on Receptor.
I think I need to talk to Muse...

hello,
vocov http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2676.html
will act as VSTi and separeted VSTe-module vocovCapture
will feed voice signal to vocov vocoder.
im not sure but if you use 2 channel for vocoding...
ch1 MIDI=>VOCOV => output
^
|(automatically connection)
|
ch2 MIC =>VOCOVCapture => [mute]
it might work?
vocov is still developping phase. FYI even if you might not satisfy the quality.

Take a look at Rob Papen's Predator ...not only is in an outstanding synth, it's a great Vocoder on Receptor. It will load in the Receptor effects slots and you can use the Guitar or Line inputs to send audio into Receptor .... the MIDI will pass to Predator for the live vocoding ....
Best,
Chris

Interesting Chris. So I should be able to plug a mic into the input and transmit midi. I'll go have a listen. Seems to be the only thing missing from Receptors sound pallette, a dedicated vocoder plug.

Yup ! ....works great.
Are you gonna download the Predator demo from Plugorama?
The way I've routed the Microphone to Receptor is, I use a small mixer and use a pre-fader Aux-send into Receptor's guitar or line input ...I put the fader on the mixer all the down and use the aux send to adjust the level going into Receptor.
There are some basic vocoding presets all ready to go in the demo too ...

I successfully installed Vokko(by the unsupported plug-ins method) on my receptor.
It works great ! I had tried Predator's vocoder before, and I must say that Vokko sounds much much better, thought the synth part is less powerful than Predator ! With Vokko,I understand what I'm saying, at last ! It has got a real "sibilance" function, and everything you need for precise vocoding.
The only problem is that it permanently receives on all channels, even if you turn all channels off except one, in Vokko's control panel.
As you have to use it as an FX and not an instrument, you can't do anything for that "midi omni" problem !
With Predator FX as a vocoder, I had another problem : when I recall a multi with a channel containing Predator FX, It's as if the input (whether line or mic input) disables itself (in fact, the input still works, the led flashes, but it's not processed anymore by Predator's vocoder).I have to restart the channel from scratch, assigning the input as a source, selecting Predator FX , and then recalling the vocoder preset that I had saved in Predator's bank.
ELS or Orange vocoder would be great on receptor, but they don't work (I managed to install Orange Vocoder, the GUI appears, but no way to assign it as an FX with input and Midi control...
Did anyone try other vocoders on receptor ?

Does anyone know what happened to NI Vocator that used to ship with Komplete 4? It's not included anymore and is no longer on the main list of products at http://native-instruments.com.

Greg,
i<d like to install Vokator by its own on my Receptor (as you suspect, i dont own Receptor with Komplete inside neither did i install Komplete.
I currently only use Kontakt2.
So... is it possible to crossgrade the Vokator i already own towards my Receptor??
regards
guy

Guy, you'll need to ask Muse and NI for the answer to that question.
