funny though, the clapton "blackie" sold out the first day. It was 24000........pulsoc wrote:Funny I was just talking to a guy at the local GC about this one, they had it hanging with the 25K price tag. I think he said 200 were manufactured? and like 40 had been sold. Retards.tomg wrote:For 25,000 you can have a copy of this one.

This is all too much! FFS, bad enough that fancy custom shop models cost $5K and up, this is crazed! I want the list of people that bought these, I have some swampland in Florida to sell them, and deeds to the Golden Gate Bridge, too!
My first guitar was a beat-up Strat copy I replaced the pickups in, maybe I could make 100 copies and sell them as "the guitar that didn't bring me fame and fortune".
I don't need to spend $10K+ on a guitar that I'll suck on, when I can suck playing a $300 Ibanez...

its not like these "copys" have any real value either- if its *not* the guitar they played then what is the fricking point? I guess my opinion is probably based on the fact that these guitars cost more than I have in the bank and possibly my entire net worth though...

edit: this is making really sick: http://video.google.de/videoplay?docid= ... &plindex=0Mind you, it might explain why they've only sold 40 of the EVH guitars if they make you sound like this

I've played almost all of these replicas... the evh, the blackie, the summers, the srv..etc..etc.
They ARE good guitars, well made..etc (well, the evh is pretty haphazard, but I guess it's just how it really was)
The prices ARE crazy, but they also took a long time to build.
...ok, I guess I kind of agree with most of you, but they ARE well built instruments, anyway!

I admit, I actually got a replica.............of course not the 24000 one!

the odd thing is that the "blackie" came out that day. I had absolutely no idea, nor was looking for a clapton strat. Just was a thing...........

I agree with that, when i was working at the music store I played them all(except the evh one) as they came in and they are really well craffted guitars, but 25000$,Danno wrote:I've played almost all of these replicas... the evh, the blackie, the summers, the srv..etc..etc.

with tbx and other controls all the way up, I seem to be able to get a good sound, out of anything, all the time, no matter what. However, for the strat purist, if you roll that off (to taste whatever that means
) you can get the twang o strat as well.
I really wanted a hard tail, so it's nice this was blocked
super duper uber insane quiet. I have a s-1 tele which is nice, but not even CLOSE to being as quiet!!!!!!!
It's light, but sound big
However, I HATE the black on white..........HATE IT! I have been looking for a mint-green pickguard.........but it's 8 hole
btw, can you tell how much I like talking about it?
