psycox posted some psy/chill presets a while back, they're quite good too.

Release Date: August 22, 2007
Description: psycox's psy/chill preset pack 1 updated (118 presets)

You can find tons of free quality Z2 presets in the web links to preset banks.

Zircon's free presets are very Trancy but you might be able to use them as a starting point for something darker as well.

Cheers!

It's worth thinking about... (it's also the reason why I think I'm in a dilemma of some sort or another)

I've thought about these methods of composing mostly because I wanted to try to insure I was being original. In the end I've rejected them because they take too much of the fun out of things.

Some systems are so rigid that as someone once said "The stick up his butt has a stick up its butt."

In some cases I can understand the problem of sounding too cliched, like the Snake Charmer patch from the Korg Wavestation. On the other hand, with a Zillion different patches out there in hardware and software, and hundreds of Terabytes of loops available, why worry about it. Worrying about whether something needs to be modified just to be "more unique" really disturbs the workflow. Modifying something to make it fit the song better is a different story: that's just good craft.

Your tools are very important to me. They fit me and my work.

Thanks, the krankyone
