System noise from the receptor

This occurs when I plug a monitor into receptor. I plug it in at rehearsal and the system noise is appalling when the monitor is unplugged from the receptor the system noise is zero. Can anyone think of a solution because I need to mix the performance data live and I've only got a couple of weeks before the first gig using receptor.

My guess is that its an old CRT monitor? They tend to create loads of interference. If thats the case, try an LCD. If it IS an LCD, try using a video lead with an ferrite filter on it. They have a bulge in them!

It's a relatively new TFT monitor that's what makes it so unusual.

Im not a Receptor owner, just trying to suggest a few basics. It may be an earthing problem. Unusual on anything other than laptops though. The cure with a laptop is to either remove the earth or to lift it with a resistor. Maybe someone has come across this on a Receptor before? I should add the disclaimer that you shouldnt remove an earth on any equipment without consulting a qualified person ie Muse. Try another display meanwhile.

It definately isn't an earth problem, it is definately system pc noise, an earth loop cycles at 50Hz a second and the noise being emitted is far to high for that.
