Possible Slight Bug in Current OS/Setup???

I've got a Receptor Pro Jr. with the latest os and while uninstalling some plugins I did not want I found that DR-008 won't uninstall. The listing remains in the plugin directory and all the files and samples seem to be still present on the disk. Don't know if it is just my setup or a general bug with all current setups.

By the way the NI service center works perfectly. I installed my copies of Reaktor 5, Absynth 4, FM8 & Kontakt 2.2.3 without a hitch.

Thanks for making the NI stuff work. I'd love to install my Virsyn stuff as well if that ever becomes possible.

I had the same problem. I opened a ticket with Muse and they sent me an rpm that modifies the permissions to let you delete that DR-008 folder. I think I still have it so I can send it to you if you are getting a delay with Muse responding.

On a related note, did you just do regular unsupported installs for Absynth 4 and Kontakt 2.2.3 then authorize via Service Center?

I installed the NI stuff the hard way by taking the hard drive out and putting it my computer. This isn't so hard since I have a removable drive tray setup so the hard part was just opening up the receptor. I get access to the partitions on the hard drive using Ext2 IFS for windows. Then I can add and delete stuff freely. You can also back everything up using Acronis Home and restore as you like. For the NI stuff I copied the common files\NI stuff over and the NI directory in Program Files from my music computer and then copied the registry settings for NI while changing some references for directories that were now different. Then I copied the Kontakt library to the Samples directory. With that all the NI plugs were activated through service center and everything seems to be working fine except the plugin names don't show which version of the plugin it is (multiple out, stereo, etc). It would be nice if the user could easily edit how the plugins are named in the menu. I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I backed up that setup using Acronis so I don't have to start over at the beginning should something happen. I also found a bunch of junk in the windows temp directory, almost 2gb worth. I managed to get rid of that too freeing up some space. Now I can install some of the other plugs I have.

When I got rid of the DR-008 stuff the first time it still showed up in the plugin menu but when I restored the hard drive to the factory setup and did it again now the DR-008 seems gone from the menu so that problem is solved.

Hello Jon!

I answered your question about renaming the plugins here:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 18#2797618

I removed my DR-008 as follows:

1. log in as root (see http://receptor.panthouse.se)
2. set permissions of DR-008 directory: chmod -R a+w DR-008
3. delete DR-008 directory tree: rm -Rf DR-008
4. reset plugin cache (see here for instructions)

...but since you already got this solved I guess you're alright now. :)

Thanks for the info. I know nothing about linux so I guess I'll have to start learning something about linux commands to make my life easier.
