Converting Patches in Proprietary format

Suppose you have a synth that stores patches in proprietary format rather than common fxb/fxp files. Absynth for example. Is there any way to get those into Receptor format so you can access them easily using the Receptor patch system?

HI J,

Sadly, no. You would have to receptorize these yourself (ie. change patch from the vsti editor, save as a Receptor patch, repeat).

I have heard of some people describing that some DAWs/Sequencers (Cubase rings a bell, but I'm not sure) might have some way of saving a VSTi's patches as an FXB, which could be ported over to Receptor to create a Receporized bank. I have not done this myself.

It almost seems like it would be useful to have a place on this forum to dump FXB(s)/FXP folders where people have receptorized proprietary formatted patch dumps.

join this group:

then go to:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Mu ... tor/files/

and look at the file "Preset List.txt". This lists all the banks contributed thus far.

ultimately, I think you also have to join:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/receptorized/
and
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/receptorized2/

since that is where most of the files are.

Many of these were done BY HAND by some generous people. For instance Atmosphere and Trilogy....completely done by hand by Kermit Jagger (God bless him!)

enjoy and contribute!
