that's what i was afraid of... it may not be worth it if the signal has to be delayed that much.
i agree.
the piezo triggering could be selectable for single pads.
and for th other pads the incoming piezo velocity could be used as a third axis

midi to qwerty: ctrl+c doen't work ... it seems to send "ctrl+" message
is it possible to add preset changing using midi cc=0??

the dream solution: a graphic interface (like the midipads one) with a complete keyboard+numpad, each single key has midilearn for note assignment, possibility to add modifiers...
wy don't you add qwerty selection to midipads?? near to "note or cc" selection in the pad menu... so qwerty keys could be triggered by the touchscreen like in the windows keyboard but with resizable dimension

some other plugin ideas:

midi2textmessage: when the plug recives a midimessage (learnable) it writes a message on the center of the screen with selectable color-dimension-time
like in plastique's s-message (i made requests for improvements)
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 813e5abf69

note2pc: when a note is recived (learnable) a program-change message is sent. everytime the plug reciver the trigger note, the value of the pc will be incremented by 1. a slider will set the range (min-value,max-value) for the pc messages to be sent
- a second note triggers the value decrement
- possibility to use a pot (0-127) to send pc-messages in the range

i did start working on it, but it'll take a while. i still need to get the basic functionality down (record, play back in sync). hopefully i can make some progress on that today.

i decided to list all my ideas regarding midipads in my "pidipads requests" post of Wed Nov 07, 2007 3:48 am, page 24

nicfit has a plugin that does almost exactly this... it's not triggered by notes, so you'd have to convert notes to CCs that automate the buttons. but since that's windows-only, i'll add it to my list. should be pretty easy to make.

finally i found the plastique's s-stepper, that is perferct for this application, you could take it as inspiration... it only lacks of cc-value to range conversion.

mine would be a lot simpler... it'll just cycle incrementally through programs. it would have the following parameters, more or less:

- inc note
- dec note
- program (incremented by the above notes, or changed directly)
- min program
- max program
- output channel

with plastique's, you can cycle through non-consecutive programs, which would definitely be more useful in some cases, but it's limited to 16. of course, it can do a lot more than this as well.

i updated the pizmidi package:

* midi2qwerty and midiForceToKey now have a "program" parameter. automate it to change the current program. also increased the number of programs to 128, so the automating CC value will correspond exactly to the program number.
* midiVelocityScale can now also affect the release velocity, separate from the note-on velocity.

could you please include an option to control the range between min and max program with a cc? like a rotary switch

regarding the scene\snapshot function (with morph option) that i descibed for midipads... it could be done as a separate plugin. limited to 16 cc's

even the toggle function could be allowed with a separate plug: a hold2toggle plugin.
8 or 16 selectable notes (or ALL notes) that pass thru this plug will alternate note on and off each time a midinote message is recived.
this is useful with midicontrolles that need midifeedback to control visual elements ,like leds

Greetings:

I tried using the pizmidi20071031 package for Linux, with the JOST 0.4.2 plugin host. Alas, they don't work there. :( The plugins load okay, they just don't change anything, they just act as pass-throughs.

Has anyone else in this thread used them successfully with JOST ?

Best,

is that with every plugin? a lot of them do just pass midi through at their default settings. they worked in jost last time i tried them, but it's possible something got broken since then.

i'll check it out tonight... the linux versions need to be updated anyway.

Cool, thank you.

Well, all the ones i've tried so far just pass on unaltered data: Invert Notes, Velocity Scale, NotesToCC, and Channelize. :(

I'll be happy to help with any recompiling or other debugging for your Linux versions, I'd like to see your plugins working in JOST, they look very helpful.

Best,
