receptor for guitarist and keyboards

On the Muse Research website they claim that you can run a receptor as a guitar effects box and a synth module for keyboards at the same time. Am I correct to assume that I then have to run one output to my guitar amp, and I'm left with a single output for the keyboards?

receptor is very often used as an amp simulator/fx box by guitarist. The signal doesn't even go through an amp anymore. Than you can have one stereo output with both the guitar and the keys in stereo. You can also get a cheap adat to analog converter, and then you'll have both signals separate. Keep in mind that if you DO want to use your amp you'll need to get a re-amp box, to match the impedances of the line level output of the receptor and the guitar input of the amp. Also not expensive.

hmmm... suddenly this doesn't sound like an all in one solution. Looks like if I go this route my rig will remain as large as it is now.

Any recomndations on re-amp boxes, and adat-analog converters? I wouldn't want cheap ones per se, but I also don't want to break the bank.

Having to purchase these converters, would it be simpler to just go with a computer and a good i/o box w/midi? Is there any software that simply hosts vst plugins that would give me similar functionality to the Receptor's OS?

If all you want to do is run GR3 and one piano plug-in, a budget laptop and cheap USB Audio/Midi box will get you there for sure, and cheaper.

Latency on receptor is comparable to a computer with a good PCI audio interface.

for what it's worth I'm a big receptor fan!

...but in the interested of full disclosure you should know that GR3 doesn't run on Receptor at the moment, but GR2 does
