A sugestion for a new plug. you probably already thought of this but a graphic envelope would be very nice to have. something like the envelope comp in ext 1.4 but with some extra features.

i'm pretty sure the problem is in jost. i'm trying to get in touch with lucio to discuss it.StudioDave wrote:Any news on this problem ? I don't mean to push, but I'm writing an article for the Linux Journal and I've mentioned that the pizmidi set works with eXT2. I'd like also to mention that they work with JOST (the subject of the article).insertpizhere wrote:ok, my plugins appear to do absolutely nothing in jost, but they work in the linux XT2. i'll take this to the jost forum.
Regardless, I look forward to an improved pizmidi for Linux.
Best,

I just wanted to add a note here to say thanks for looking at the problem. As you know, Lucio fixed JOST, and now your excellent plugins (the Linux versions) are doing their duties here at Studio Dave.
I'm a fan of an ancient MIDI sequencer, Voyetra's Sequencer Plus Gold, and I still use it for all my serious MIDI work. Its event transforms are wonderful, perhaps you could add a few of then to your plugins ? Here's what SPG can do with MIDI events:
NORMAL TRANSFORMS
Time:
Quantize
Super Quantize
Quantize Duration
Set Durations
Adjust Durations
Retrograde
Offset
Compex
Pitch:
Transpose
Harmonic Transpose
Inversion
Harmonic Inversion
Map
Velocity:
Set
Adjust
Crescendo
Set Note-off Velocity
Adjust Note-off Velocity
Compex
Split:
Pitch
Quantize
Velocity
Duration
Modulus
Random/Misc:
Pitch
Start Time
Velocity
Duration
Merge Tracks
Track Rebar
Range Rebar
MID/TEMPO TRANSFORMS
Time:
Retrograde
Offset
Compex
Value:
Scale
Shift
Invert
Map
Map Programs
Ins/Del:
Fill
Crescendo
Thin
Eliminate Duplicates
Tempo:
Accelerando
Scale
Shift
Thin
Elim-dupes
Tap Tempo
Obviously many of these transforms are useful only for non-realtime work, but some of the pitch and velocity transforms could work in realtime.
I owned a Yamaha MEP4 in bygone days, it was a great tool for converting MIDI messages. It had a neat MIDI delay function, that might be another nice addition to the pizmidi collection.
Anyway, thanks again for the great plugins, they'll find steady employment here in my studio (and a positive review in my next article for the Linux Journal).

yes, a delay is on my list... i'll get to it one of these days.I owned a Yamaha MEP4 in bygone days, it was a great tool for converting MIDI messages. It had a neat MIDI delay function, that might be another nice addition to the pizmidi collection.

i tried, but it's more difficult than it should be, so i took a break to work on other things, like the midi looper. i also want to do a few more small, simple plugins. then i'll come back and try to finish midiPads. it might need to be partially rewritten to allow that kind of playing.-PIKU- wrote:is there any new regarding drag&play in midipads?
