Maybe I don't have as refined tastes as everyone else, or maybe my taste just don't encompass music like this (though it feels more like ambient noise than music), I don't know. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook on it but it just isn't clicking- it feels like it's just one opening, widening, gaping mouth of abrasive noise. I feel like this is the music I would be listening to if I were in a dark room, tied up, and being whipped.
I'm really trying to keep a positive outlook on this, I just don't see what it's all about. It just makes me feel very uncomfortable, very anxious and very frustrated.
Am I missing something? I've heard plenty of ambient tracks, plenty of music that's required an open mind to appreciate. I feel like I could get the same enjoyment out of recording myself screaming into a microphone and looping the feedback I'd get if I unplugged a guitar with all the gains turned up.
Things like this kind of make me think of someone trying to find a new sound and instead just playing all the sounds that most people haven't heard before, because they're awful noises. I know I know, noise and all sounds should be appreciated. Is this really something I want to listen to in a well lit room, trying to enjoy my night? What if you filtered someone screaming into a mic and just played that continuously- should all things be appreciated, or rather are they always appropriate?
Just my thoughts, I really don't mean to be giving it a negative conotation but it's what's going through my mind. I dunno. Maybe I'm just frustrated, I'll have to give it another listen when I'm in a better mood.

That's the kind of endorsement that people pay for. If you could record yourself saying that so I could use the sample, that would be perfect.TraiT wrote:I'm really trying to keep a positive outlook on this, I just don't see what it's all about. Thanks, TraiT!

Haha glad no one took it the wrong way =P.
That actually gives me some ideas to record some vocals with some effects to emphasize the words haha. Maybe I will record a sample of me saying that =P

You'd have to be pretty oblivious or utterly full of shit to produce this kind of music and take offense when people don't like it.
As norm said, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

Yeah, that's a bit weird.vurt wrote:i do find it funny though when people are offended by the fact that youre not.
But TraiT, from your description, your experience was intense, enjoyment or not aside. To my mind, we couldn't have asked for a nicer thing for you to say.

Especially if said fawning admiration is accompanied by an overwhelming urge to send me topless pictures of yourself.
