I actually went for a more localized brand. Not sure if others have heard of it or not, but the guy who makes them is from my home town or round abouts and the local shop there carries his stuff. His warehouse is here in Nashville now.

Anyways, it's a Samick brand guitar. Very nicely put together and I am very happy with the sound. It also saves some money that I'm spending on a straplock system, new case, etc. And sometime soon I may look for another guitar to compliment it.

I'll take a picture when I get some batteries for my camera.

I think this one is it(model number on the guitar says MB200). But mine is a sort of sunburst design, not flat colored:

FWIW, from what I've heard, the Samick stuff is like the Rondo Music guitars. Affordable, but put together well and great sound. My friend has an acoustic from them and I drool when I hear it because it sounds top notch. It's the whole "not stuck on a name" thing that made me go for them, as it's essentially the same as a standard strat from what I could tell in the sound when I compared the two.

Oh yeah; I'm very familiar with Samick. Never owned one, but heard plenty of good things. You luck out, living in Guitar Country!

Thanks! my playing stinks, played bass most of my playing years. But Yes I think the tone is quite good also for a setup its a cheapo Behringer D120 DI box into a Art tube MP, the rest is straight from FreeAmp3 (Overdrive, amp and delay).

I guess you mean Ultra-DI DI20, not D120?

I have one of those that I us as backups for livegigs if (for some reason) the house-DI doesn't work. But what is the progress? Can we except FA3 for Q4 2007/Q1 2008?

I tried FreeAmp2 a few months back but decided not to use it because I had a Toneport UX1 and I was not too happy with the quality of distortion on FreeAmp2...
However, Simulanalog's GuitarSuite can produce some amazing distortion if used properly so in the end I decided to sell my toneport and keep FreeAmp2 and GuitarSuite for all my guitar FX needs..

A big factor in my decision was not being able to tweak the sound after recording with Toneport and their VST plug is 199 US dollars which is more than I paid for the Toneport itself!

Its so cool to hear that FreeAmp3 is on the way, it seems like fretted synth is putting a lot of work into this, I'm sure it will give me a reason to dump even GuitarSuite too!..

Yes, its the Ultra DI D120. Out of all the direct boxes I own this one just sounds better to me, more transparent? go figure it cost about a quarter of what any of the others I own. Use the Tube MP for about 4db gain so the noise is low and the signal is quite clean.

for sure in the last quarter of 2007 just can't say for sure when, but two months is a long time for what I have left.

Why dump anything? I've got damn near every ampsim hard and soft.
They all have their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the
day its just more colors on my pallette!

And don't even get
me started on amps and stompboxes!

Freeamp2 is way cool,
its got some tricks up its sleeves that NO other sim is capable
of. I'm sure Freeamp3 will be no less unique and amazing..JOE ROCKS!!

about all I can say is YES it is getting closer

fun stuff in there, the amp only version uses only 4% on my old 2gig athlon and that is with the included noise gate running

Hi Rick, after two weeks of no reply from you I figured you were either (a)too busy, (b)not interested or (c)had other motives to not contact me? The graphics for FA3 are complete. There will be many more updates though
