T3.0.3.3 - Random Poof Crashes

Hi all,

I'm new to Tracktion but not to computer recording. I'm running T3 3.0.0.18 Project Bundle on a Dell PC, 2.4 GHz P4, 512 MB Ram (I know, not that great) 80 Gig HD.

So, what happened is, I worked on an edit for a few days, had it perfect, made a few last minute changes I didn't like, and decided instead of clicking UNDO a bunch, I'd just close Tracktion and say "Discard Changes". Bad move obviously, on my part. I have subsequently learned where "revert to saved" is. Anyway - :-o

Now the Edit won't open. The project opens, all the audio is there, but when I either double click the edit or highlight it and click on "open for editing", the computer thinks for a few seconds and then...POOF!

So, is this something that has happened to anyone else? Maybe downloading the latest version of the software would fix it? I'm pretty sure I can rebuild the mix, but I would love to not have to.

3.0.3.3 ia the only stable version I've used.

Does it still happen in 3.0.3.3? We've fixed A LOT of bugs since 3.0.0.18 as documented in the release notes.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Umm...where would I get version 3.0.3.3? I went to the Mackie website to look for it and all I could find was that I could buy an upgrade to the Ultimate bundle.

...which I may want to do anyway, if I can get this fixed.

Hi Ron,

Yeah, I did...but I just went again to make sure. When I click on the upgrade link, the only option is to buy an upgrade to the T3 Ultimate bundle.

Oops...

I did some searching through the forum, and figured out how to find the 3.0.3.3 download...only it won't download. Maybe 'cause I'm on dial-up here at home? IE says the server cannot be found. I'll try getting it from a faster connection tomorrow.

I couldn't get it on high speed either, so I just checked with Mackie tech support. Apparently there's aproblem with the server; download speed is too slow so it's timing out on everyone.

They say it might be fixed by tonight. I hate being patient.

since a while i have the problem that tracktion crashes 2 times at start up..the third time i open tracktion it mostly works ..does someone have the same prob ?

macbook 2 Ghz osx 10.4.10

Consistent Poof Scenario in 3.0.3.3 on PC.
Copy Tempo curve on global track to clipboard, erase all points on curve, and then import that curve back at cursor point - screen gos blank. T3 restarts w/o a problem.

sorry me again.--i descibed my problem above dont know of gmore was writing that message to me..didnt understand the advice.. it happens with any project file and im not on pc...
i didnt use tracktion for a while because i bought logic express 8 ... just wanted to start tracktion after a while , but these crashes suck that much ...
any ideas ?

I'm adding this to the poof list. I haven't been able to find reference to it but I may have missed it.

T3 consistently disappears when I attempt to copy and paste an automation curve.

windows xp
Tracktion 3.0.3.3

I'm afraid I can't use the crash tracker. My wireless network's down so I've got no connection on my t3 machine.
