The send itself doesn't have a mute, but it's about the receiving rack, which you indeed can un-mute if you want, but it's not that this is tracked in the solo-operation.
"It" being the target of the send, rather than the send. And it is, indeed, remembering whether I'd chosen to have the target muted that I was after.

Another question: can there folders and subfolders in the MuSynth patch browser?

Euh, i'm not sure if i understood/understand you fully.

As we preferred: When doing a Solo Rack, also the sends (i.e. their target racks) are muted.

But you can right-click the send, and choose "Select Send Target", and then eventually unmute that target rack.

Note that this unmute is not "memorized" somewhere.

Public Beta B is on its way out, so please see how it's done there.

Currently not.

Regarding eventual later expansion:

I understand that grouping into folders could be a way of organizing similar sounds, e.g. "Basses", "Pads", ...

But i'm not yet convinced if foldering is the best way, because i often find a single sound to match multiple groups.

So i'm thinking more about a Tagging system where you can put (multiple) tags on the sound like Pad+Dark or Bass+Aggressive+FM.

Then using a rich search function you could filter out the patches you want.

But that's future talk...

First need to work out the docs and tutorials now.

And that's the bit I think would be a neat feature. Definitely not required but very neat...

Yep, that sounds a good approach.

Yes, but it can work counter-productive too: imagine you do a solo, then start unmuting things, and suddenly there you go with another musical drive, jamming around :)

Now if the solo system is memorizing things, you still need to do the unsolo, or at least do something to reset the solo system.

My point is: the current solo system is very simple and straightforward, both from the technical side as from the user side, and personally i like that.

Of course, if a majority of users would request a tweak regarding this, i'm open.

But at this point, i think it's (musically) very ok like it is, imho.

Hope you can agree.

This one's very "personal work flow", I agree. And there's definitely nothing wrong with not remembering it.
