yeah, that's how i thought it should work - but either i am doing something wrong or it doesn't work on my computer in xt 1.4 - i'll try in bidule.liqih wrote:you trigger a pad with one of its trigger notes, if KEYTK is on you can user the upper keys (see KeyMap) to change the pitchfabi wrote:fun fact - if the slider is above 50% notes that don't trigger any sound at all otherwise do so then.
however, can anyone explain how the keytracking is supposed to work? i didn't look at the videos yet, do they contain an example of that? i know what it's supposed to do, i just can't do it - probably something i didn't understand correctly.

thanks.bobsled wrote:Confirmed.fabi wrote:very minor bug: upon first loading BDM into a host you still have to double-click on the 'on' button of a pad for it to turn off.
found another bug - be careful with your speakers, though.
set the bass drum tone all the way up. turn velocity sensibility off. hit c3 repeatedly - you should get the occasional +22db spike. maybe DC offset or something?
at least in bidule and xt that's what happens.

resuming we still have to do:
DC filter
fix hit button off
fix switches randomization
set B samples
default.fxb
BDM Manual is 99% ready,
what else?

what about the pan knobs not having any effect when 'power' is off? will it be mentioned in the manual only, or will there be a hint on the GUI, too?
I guess it's not that important - thought I'd mention it again since you'd asked.

it seems to me (but I could be wrong , <grin>) that is a standard behavior of a mixer: the Pan affecs only the stereo out, the mono outs are pre-pan,
and Power in BDM affects only the stereo Out,
so maybe you want the Power to turn off the mono outs as well?

nah, if it's standard behavior keep it the way it is.

Wasn't there talk early on about possibly including some broken .mid files?liqih wrote:resuming we still have to do...what else?
If there is still interest, feel free to open F_209_BDM.MID in eXT, routing both drums and bass to 2 x BDM using blortblort's kits. Sending that combined audio to JB Broadcast should result in something like F_209_BDM.mp3, no other effects or instruments were used. All I did was ride the Master Chaos fader(s).
Any bass track from any .mid sent to BDM can be shifted up a couple or few dozen semi-tones to change things up a bit.

I said early on that I could make some midi files emulating the patterns on my yamaha PC-100 and casio PT-1. I can still do that if anyone wants, but they wouldn't be broken, just some cheesy toy keyboardish midi files.bobsled wrote:Wasn't there talk early on about possibly including some broken .mid files?liqih wrote:resuming we still have to do...what else?

If you post some, I don't mind having a go at breaking them <grin>pw wrote:I said early on that I could make some midi files emulating the patterns on my yamaha PC-100 and casio PT-1. I see Liqih posted a Salsa/Cha Cha midi file in this thread http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=199112
If anyone knows where to download old cheesy auto-accompaniament/rhythm tracks (or whatever they're called) please let me know.
Edit: Doh! I forgot I've got a QY70

Currently there is no graphic indication wether miss-triggering is on or not ( I know second half of Master chaos = on ) but, some LED on the GUI indicating this would be useful. ( Consider that most people read the manual only if they run into a problem!, that is why I think all features should be visible from GUI. )what else?
Personally I do not like the way miss-trigerring is controlled right now. I would prefer having the master chaos slider doing only chaos, and having miss-trigerring on/off assigned to a midi note. ( To me this seems to make more sense from a performance point of view. )
+Note Naming is still missing.
