Hi,
MU.LAB Free Public Beta B has been released.
You'll find the new packages at the usual location:
http://www.mutools.com/mulab/beta
How to install & run:
-> Unzip
-> Launch MULAB
What's new since Public Beta A
* New: The MUX can now directly use VST plugins!
So you can make Multi-FX by using single vst effects.
Or make multi-layered synths by using multiple VSTIs and/or MuSynths.
Core Power!!
Of course, be aware that such MUX patches may not be exchangable with other users that don't have the same vst plugins.
* Tuned: Pressing TAB for Tempo Delay and MuVerb doesn't cause flicker anymore
* Tuned: When solo-ing a Rack, any Racks that are receiving audio from the solo'd Rack are also unmuted
* Tuned: "Switch To Play/Edit Editor" now includes the "TAB" short key hint
* Tuned: Added the Cut/Copy/Paste short keys in the context menus
* Tuned: The menu font size can be tweaked in Settings/MULAB.txt: e.g. MenuFontSize=Large. Default=Medium. Options: ExtraSmall, Small, Medium, Large, ExtraLarge, Giant
* Tuned: For reasons, MuSynth patches cannot include Racks. Use any effects etc. directly in MuSynth patch!
* Fixed: Crash bug when inserting a VST plugin in a Rack in a MUX
* Fixed: Deleting an Event Output in the MUX caused a crash
* Fixed: The "List All Inputs" function showed its result at a weird place
* Fixed: Draw New Sequence when no sequences already exist didn't allow for a new sequence
* And some other little tunings

Important note to LUNA Unlimited Users:
As you might already know, LUNA has evolved into MU.LAB.
MU.LAB maintains the same simplicity as LUNA, but on top of that quite some new features and a lot of improvements have been developed.
Highlights are the MuSynth, an integrated fully modular synth, and the MUX, an integrated fully modular effect/workhorse plugin.
Soon MU.LAB Unlimited will be available for download. First as a beta version, then as PreRelease, and on 21 December MU.LAB 1.0 is released.
In fact, the Unlimited beta version is already available at:
http://www.mutools.com/mulab/beta/unlimited
As you are a registered LUNA Unlimited User, we're happy to give you a Free Upgrade to MU.LAB Unlimited.
Now MU.LAB uses a new (but similar) User Key system, and so you'll need a new User Key.
Instead of sending out all new keys at once (which is unpractical at MUTOOLS' side), feel free to just request your new MU.LAB User Key via email.
An so spread over the coming days, every Unlimited user will get his/her new MU.LAB Key
Once you got your new key, copy it on the clipboard, launch MU.LAB Unlimited, and paste the new key into the key dialog box, and off you go!
Enjoy MU.LAB Unlimited!

(MULAB Free) Demo Session.
Open Snare2 rack, open NoiseClap MuSynth, hit TAB.
Right-click "Noise Generator" and select "Embed Editor". Nothing happens? Same for all the plugs, in fact.

In the play editor, should "Export Panel XML" prompt for a location and filename?
Have a new MUX:
http://www.drealm.info/mu.lab/MasterFISH.Mux
You need:
[*] BLOCKFISH
[*] Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter

Unreproducible but I got a crash (Red Screen Of Death
) switching between "Crazy" and "WahWah" MUX effects (inserted into the Master rack in the demo).

True. A fresh little bug created by one of the recent changes...pljones wrote:(MULAB Free) Demo Session.

Anyway, the poor little bug won't have much lifetime
Thanks for spotting it!

Just to confirm I followed these steps with the same result.pljones wrote:(MULAB Free) Demo Session.

It's not a "deal breaker" for me. I haven't got into the MuSynth so much. Just using the patches provided.
All my previous projects load and play well. I like the built in MuVerb.
Lookin' forward to the 1.0, and further.

Just did some crazy swithing like hell between some MUX patches in the MASTER Rack. No crash here yet. So i assume it will be some under specific concurrent conditions...pljones wrote:Unreproducible but I got a crash (Red Screen Of Death) switching between "Crazy" and "WahWah" MUX effects (inserted into the Master rack in the demo).
Will keep an eye on it!
A pity that i can't get more details (crash location) when the red alert appears, due to limits in C++...
By the way: did the autosaved "Crashed.MuSession" reload fine?

Of course, i'll do the best to create many more good MuSynth patches soon. Definitely also looking forward to that because i like sound design

This MUX one:muzycian wrote:Yes. It works here. Doesn't it work there? Which plugin/patch?pljones wrote:In the play editor, should "Export Panel XML" prompt for a location and filename?
The provided patches I tried all seemed to work. But the above doesn't - contains VST plugins...
Oh - and how about an "Import patch" that lets you browse for a file and stores it in the right folder?

I've still not reproduced it... but I should have said I had the demo playing at the time.muzycian wrote:So i assume it will be some under specific concurrent conditions...

Ah, i see the issue:pljones wrote:This MUX one:muzycian wrote:Yes. It works here. Doesn't it work there? Your new MUX patch doesn't yet contain any specific panel data yet.
It's about the positions of the different parameter displays.
You can change these positions by alt+dragging these parameters around the panel. Note: Alt+drag the name or value part of the parameter, not alt+drag the knob itself.
Once you have changed the default positions, this patch will contain the positioning XML data, and so you can export it for external editing
