here you have the new BDB.wav and SDB.wav, please let me know if you don't like them
http://www.dashsignature.com/BDM/pcm.zip
BTW if you want to try your own the WAV must be 16 bit mono 44100 Hz
Max 1.83 seconds long, but I will extend to 2 seconds

Just slightly confusing at first really. I thought I'd found a bug and tried in my other 2 hosts before I twigged <grin>liqih wrote:for the Mix fader you are actually right but I liked graphically better the VCO at the bottom, is it so confusing?

Final skin seems fine.
The only thing I might suggest changing would be to have the red and green sections as triangles as below.

Had to go play in the snow.
BDM tested in eXT1.4.1, XT2.0.4 24Nov._beta, VSTHost1.44, Tunafish1.8
I like the new Hit buttons, very nice.
screen = 1024x768liqih wrote:questions for everybody, which screen resolution do you use for DAW?
1024x768 1400x1050
and which VST hosts tried so far with BDM?
Thanks

anyone confirm that d2 and e2 behave the same in present build?
previously, the d2 was long snare and e2 was short snare...now both behave the same (at least, for me they do)

blortblort - SD decay issues seem resolved in the 0.5 beta, d2 and e2 no longer have the same decay time.
Also, Hit buttons remaining lit after hit problem seems to be solved.

thanks a lot, I have two more things to fix, the randomization on switches bitmap status and it doesn't want to play in Chainer, <sigh>, but it's not very useful in Chainer or is it?, <grin>
edit: randomization on switches fixed now
time to make presets

ok here is a deal: anyone who will produce 20 good pairs "preset - MIDI file" will get BDM for free!
Spread the word!
what is a "preset - MIDI file" ?
one preset for BDM and one MIDI file designed to demonstrate that preset,
the MIDI file must be one track of at least 4 bars and max 16 bars.
who decide if it's good?
of course me, <grin>
to apply send me an e-mail and you'll get a copy of BDM for the purpose
thanks

I really like that in 0.5 upon mistriggering the pads that sound light up.
will go and make some presets - hope you don't mind some very un-drumish ones.

maybe a bug?
turn up decay on the hi-hat for strongest effect.
it seems that all tone knobs except the hi-hat go down in pitch to the left and higher in pitch the higher you turn the knob.
with the hi-hat 'tone' knob it's the other way around. do you guys get that, is that intended?

I was not able to replicate that behavior. However, I did notice that while triggering with the mouse, HH Hit button will trigger two to three events if that button is left depressed.fabi wrote:with the hi-hat 'tone' knob it's the other way around. do you guys get that, is that intended?
Press the HH hit button with the mouse, leave the mouse button pressed, BDM will sound more than once. This is with Master Chaos all the way down.

didn't test that, bobsled, but there's other strange pad behavior, too - you can't drum as fast via the mouse as with the midi keys.
you can click as fast as you want, after a certain point it won't get faster.
