I'll Give them a call.. I dont think it would be worth subscribing to the mag as I don't speak a word of German..
And Speccyteccy, I'm out in Spain, up i the mountains, so as for finding a shop with Computer Music Mag....
nah don't think so... Alright for goat milk though!
Maybe if I cant get any joy, you would buy a copy and send it over.. Pretty please
I really have to grab an issue of computermusic for myself sometime.
Does zebraCM work no problem in logic 8? What other goodies are of note on there for us intel mac users? I'm not going to spend the money for nothing but ZebraCM... At that point I'd be better off just saving up for Zebra 2...
1 Z2 OSC with all the features enabled, including loading custom waveforms
1 Z2 Envelope (minus the "+" menu allowing for different velocity modulations per slope)
1 Z2 MSEG
1 Global LFO (minus the user step mode from Z2)
1 regular LFO (minus the user step mode from Z2)
1 Z2 ModFX module
1 Z2 Delay module
A fixed signal path of: OSC -> ModFX -> Delay
(ModFX and Delay can separately be turned on/off)
Zebra CM has:
2 ZCM OSC with fixed waveforms and fixed OSC FX (they both have their own LP/HP filter as well)
1 Z2 Noise module
1 Z2 Filter (not XMF) with all 19 filter types
2 Z2 Envelopes w/velocity and keytrack tunables per segment)
2 Z2 LFOs including the user step mode (and a super nifty graphical view of the LFO)
1 Global LFO including the step mode
1 Z2 ModFX
1 Z2 Delay
1 Z2 Reverb
A fixed/variable signal path of: OSC1 + OSC2 + Noise -> VCF -> FX section
The FX section is a simplified Z2 FX section with a 3x2 matrix allowing you to chose which effect goes where. There's even a send/return function built in.
So which to choose? I personally think ZCM is a more complete synth than Zebralette. Considering that with Zebra 2.2 you can load Zebralette and ZebraCM presets, it's a nicer upgrade path.
Pick up any copy of Computer Music and you'll get a copy for Mac (UB AU and VST) as well as PC VST. The current shipping version of ZCM has a bug with OS X 10.5 and text input boxes which Urs has said he'll be sending CM an updated version in the future.
But really, for about $18 USD you get a really nice synth with a very good upgrade path.
