Everything has been in situ for a couple of months now without any problems, however when i went to it the other day i could not get a connection to my pc, when i checked, the tcp/ip was set to manual. I tried to switch back to crossover mode, would hear the hard drive spin up after i selected yes, then it would stay in manual mode. Tried a new crossover cable, and tried another pc, same problem.

The lights on both host sockets are lit with cable attached, and i can apply the auto dhcp on receptor. Everything else functions as it should, and can be accessed via direct monitor/mouse/keyboard

Has anyone ever had this happen?

It's a Rev B 1.6OS 2GB

Any insight would be helpful. I have submitted a ticket, but though I'd see if anyone had had this problem.

Hi,
I was wondering if someonce would be kind enough to check something on their ethernet socket lights on the back of Receptor.

On the left hand side of mine it is lit a constant yellow, and on the right a constant green. Just having a quick look around tells me that apparently a yellow led on an ethernet port can mean it is a major fault on the card.

What colours are on your ethernet sockets on your receptor anyone?

Mine looks to be be green and yellow as well and seems to be operating normally. I hope that helps.

Not sure if it's related but I've tripped over something similar in the past where you need to change the network config to crossover mode then restart the receptor and then the PC. It's not very intuitive but this what Receptor seems to require. At the time, I had asked about an update but Muse indicated it required a change deep in the kernel.

Thanks guys for your input. This is just strange, it just refuses to stay on crossover whe I try to apply it, and always reverts back to manual setting. Nothing has changed in my setup, and I've tried all I can with my knowledge f networking. I was going to get it upgraded to a Rev C at some point next year, looks like it will be sooner rather than later now.

Muse is offering special prices on Rev C upgrades (and others) until 2007-12-31. See here:
