Definitely looking forward to this coming out.

i really like how easy it is to use - you can get really crazy or really ordinary drums/sounds, but you can do it with just a few knobs and i appreciate that. :)

Anyone else having difficulty unpacking the latest BDM.zip?

:(

everything except the background.bmp should unpack just fine - and you can use the old background.

- any luck?

BDM as it stands is pretty special <smile>

Sound wise, I can't really think of anyway to make it sound better/worse.

In use though, one thing I would like to see would be the ability to save the individual hits so that you can create custom kits. I know it's not hard to make a note of the settings and then just recreate them - it's just I'm a bit lazy <grin>

On a related note do you need any more presets or would you prefer them with the midi files? I've never used midi files before as such so I don't know how to go about recording automation in them or if you can even. I've just downloaded blortbort's bank and midi zip so I'll have a look at those in the meantime.

Today I got round to testing in Audiomulch, only to find I can't remember how to use it

All I managed to do was trigger the pads inside AM using my controller. It didn't crash and it made the right sounds is about all I can report there.

I may have had one small unreproducible bug where the preset I saved loaded back in a slightly different state. I'm guessing it got corrupted whilst saving.

Cheers

thanks everybody for the support, we have 21 applications for the contest, not bad, <grin>

thanks Steve for the report, maybe I'll add "individual hit" saving in a next update after the release, and for midi files I mean only notes in them no automation,

about the presets if you want to send single FXP it's good too

Post

just sent an update for the beta, this one loads and saves bank files!
So an example default.fxb is included and it's loaded on plugin open,

you can now make your own default bank, <grin>

please try the feature with all your hosts,

thanks

The default bank loads in all my hosts, loving BB_corrodicon_BDM.

Can someone test this file & preset for me please?

Works fine in 2 of my hosts but something goes weird in the 3rd and it puts extra notes in. I'm assuming its just extra midi data and it's not importing properly.

I don't really know what I'm doing with .mid files so it could also just be me missing something really obvious.

Just a short simple loop, which doesn't really use any of the broken features as such. I've put the BPM on the mid file name as I don't yet know how to save this with the file.

Cool groove, azrael. And a very cool preset. Seems to work well in eXT1.4.1, after deleting the "tempo track".

Thanks bobsled :)

After reading your post and going "tempo track? what tempo track?", I now find that there are two place you can import a midi track in eXT 1, straight into the sequencer or into the midi part which was what I was doing.

Perhaps I should be exporting from the sequencer rather than the midi part? I think I need to do some reading.

I've had a proper think about this and decided that individual hits probably isn't that good an idea at the moment.

My reasoning is that the sounds themselves are going to be reliant on the master chaos and especially the two "4 x" controls. I'll dismiss the master chaos for the moment, but the attack and delay controls are fairly key to things and those settings wouldn't be imported.

The only way round it that I can see would be to have separate attack & delay for every pad which would mean you recoding and all existing presets would need to be redone. Admittedly it may make BDM more flexible but it also starts making it more complex. I like things simple so I'll recant my suggestion and instead make it a feature request for version 2 <smile>

I'll try and make some midi files for the presets I've already created. What kind of midi files do you want? Simple loops as in my post as above or construction kit type files with intro, main, chorus, outro parts?

The new build works flawlessly in all my hosts - the default bank loads and no glitches.
