Keyboard splits?

I'm trying to create several keyboard splits in Maize Studio, with each split being assigned to a separate vsti--so I can have, say, eight splits, with various instruments assigned to each. I can almost get it to work, but run into some problems:
1. I assume that a channel splitter is needed between the midi-in unit and the midi-note splitters, with each channel split going to a separate midi note splitter. (Is this right?) But when I play the keyboard, in the big graphic for the Midi channel splitter in the big window, only the first channel lights up.
2.When I assign a different vsti to each out of a midi split, I only hear one of them play, the one on the right.
I'm probably missing something basic, or have the modules in the wrong order. I can do a basic split using the Midi matrix. But I'm lost in trying to create more splits.
Can you tell me where I'm going wrong? Could you possibly post a graphic, somewhere, showing how the arrangement should appear? (Might be faster than explaining it writing.)Thanks.

If you want to play different vsti using different midi channel you need to use MIDI Channel Splitter. But in this case, your midi input device should be able to send midi data to different channels.
If you want to play different vsti using different parts of midi keyboard, you need to use the MIDI Note splitter which will send left and right part to different midi out ports.

I can split the keyboard once using the midi note splitter, so that a different vsti is on each side of the split. However, I can't find a way to do more than one split. What I''m trying to do is assign a different vsti to each octave. Is there a way to do this?
(This is why I was trying to use the channel splitter--to give me more splits on separate channels.)

Thanks. I'm getting closer to getting it working. I have the midi note splitters chained and have the splits assigned and playing correctly. A big problem, though: the sustain pedal only works on one of the splits. Is it possible to set things up so the sustain pedal works across all of the splits?

Oh, it's because the splitter only split the note messages but not the controller. It's very easy to fix this, in 1.2 for sure. Leave your email to mine cxhawk@gmail.com, so I can send you a copy when it's down before next release.Jake Jackson wrote:Thanks. I'm getting closer to getting it working.
