I cannot for the life o' me figger it out!
I have an audio part on the timeline that is a crescendo, but it needs to peak in the right spot, so I have to nudge it. The snap grid won;t let me.
How to disable the grid??!??!?

er...this won;t work. The part in question is an audio part, not a sequence. Plus if it was a sequence, I'm not trying to change the quantize grid int he sequence, I am wanting to disable the overall composer grid so an entire part (clip) can be moved freely without snapping to the grid. Thx for the nice try tho!

Do it on the composition background, rather than the sequence editor. Right-click, "Edit", "Select Grid", "No Grid".
