Everytime I see a new vsti come out that I think I have to have, I open Zebra 2 up, and go through Howard's presets and Michael's Old Skool set, and I find I have pretty much everything I need, or can quickly get there with just a few tweaks here and there! For me, these patch sets are a tutorial in sound design, and I've learned a ton!

Thanks to all of you. You make a seriously lethal combination (to the competition, anyway :hihi: ).

Happy holidays! 8)

Thank you!

(let's just hope the competition doesn't see this...)

Happy Holidays,

Merry Mithrasmas, bk! So when's your first soundset ready?

Actually, it's ready right now, except it looks suspiciously like your's and Michael's. Oh wait, it is your's and Michael's... nevermind :hihi:

Let's see...I average about 1 useful, original patch per week, so check back with me around 2009 or 2010. :P

 *blush* Thanks bk

9.9 out of 10 times i end up doing the stuff in Zebra no matter how hard i try NOT to do it in Zebra :hihi:

+1

I purchased Reason 4 to learn more about how discrete modules interact and routing. It's really helped me understand the design decisions Urs has used in a lot of the modules.

I keep coming back to Z2 though especially when I just want to mess around and explore. The more I use Z2 the more I appreciate its mix of complexity and simplicity. And of course the SOUND! :o

And yeah, pretty much any patch that starts with MK or HS I can get lost in for an hour. :D

(and there's quite a few UH gems too! Sometimes I think Urs' ability to make a sublime preset is overlooked.)

I have two go to synths now. Sylenth1 and Zebra2, I love the filters in Sylenth1, but for flexibility Zebra2 seems to have it all.
