in eXT 1.4, use the CC map to map CC64 to "Record"... that should do it. not sure why it wouldn't work.

Hi, I was trying out the midiLFO plugin in reaper (wrapped in energyxt to get multiple instances), and after a while the plugin sliders stop showing up.

Image

To get it back, I have to close and reopen the project. At first things work, but i I close the FX window and reopen it, I seem to run into this.

Does this happen with all GUIless plugins with reaper/ext? Is there a workaround?

Post

probably a reaper/ext problem, so the best bet would be for it to be fixed in reaper... i'll test it though to make sure.

Thanks :)

I suspect it may have to do with the way reaper handles its FX window, but couldn't find anything in reaper forum. In any case, it's not a show stopper.

yes, it seems to happen with any plugin without a gui. i guess the workaround would be to never close the FX window, or to use XT2 instead

small update to the XT2 transport control VST. the windows version didn't work with newer versions of XT2 because the window title doesn't have the "2" anymore.

this isn't really necessary anymore since the transport has cc control, but it still might be useful in some cases (more convenient note control, sequencing of events, or triggering from a different sequencer, channel selection, etc...). it won't be in the next "pizmidi" package though.

windows pizmidi collection update.

http://thepiz.org/xt/pizmidi20071222.zip

changes:
* Updated midi2qwerty to have 16 slots instead of 4, and renamed it to midi2qwerty16
* Removed XT2 transport control (still available separately)
* Removed midiCCToTempo
* Plugins will now automatically become "instrument" VSTs in hosts that need it
* Removed separate instrument versions

i'm not sure that i know of all hosts that can send midi out of an instrument but not an effect, so let me know if you find a host that these don't work in.

right now it looks for any Steinberg, Ableton, or Twelve Tone Systems host (tested with Cubase LE, Live 6 demo, and Sonar 7 demo). all other hosts i could think of either will work fine with the effect versions, or can't send out midi from VSTs at all.

I have mucho need for NRPN to CC# in OSX, Midi Pipe seems to only be able to translate one at a time!

how many do you want to translate at a time?

Oh, 90 or more :oops:

I'm using my Electribe ESX with Live and there don't seem to be many options..

But, if ur plug did like 10, I could just chain 10 of them together!

ok... 16 slots for conversion. it will do CC to NRPN and NRPN to CC, as well as other weird things.

to choose an NRPN, first change the "Coarse" parameter, then the "(N)RPN" parameter. RPN/NRPNs are displayed as hex values, but CCs are in decimal... this could be configurable in the future, probably as another parameter added on at the end.

when chaining them, set Thru (last parameter) to "yes" on all but the last one. (for NRPN input, Thru set to "no" will block any CC 98,99,6,38,96, and 97 messages.)

let me know if there are any problems.
