hi guys,

i have a komplete receptor, and would like to know how i can perform updates on the plugins in my receptor. Some updates for absynth and reaktor, battery etc. have been released since i have bought it, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to install them, because native instruments uses .exe files to do this. Any help would be appreciated!

cheers,

ROland

We are waiting on Muse for the answer to this question. Currently, there is no way that I know of to get these updates onto your Receptor.

thats pretty bad IMO. i use reaktor a lot for instance, and now i wont be able to open stuff thats been made in newer versions than the one my receptor came with. seems to me that this receptor plugin player is much more suited for the ultra rich live keyboardist then the electronic live performer like me. If muse has a proper cooperation with native instruments and even put the word 'komplete' on the front of their box, updating the software should be possible.

now i also need to find a way to downgrade reaktor, battery and absynth on my laptop, because now the plugs on receptor wont load because they are older versions. great!

If you could UNINSTALL the version (of just the individual plugins) that muse put on there, then this MIGHT be possible. BUT I ONLY GOT THIS TO WORK FOR MASSIVE. Not for K3 or GR3, and I have not tried it for any others. I almost think it was a fluke that it worked for Massive, and is due to the fact that the installer is perhaps the same one for when they sell it ALONE as opposed to part of the bundle.

I hear that we might get some good news/relief from this situation in the spring.

Yeah I hear that. Exactly why I have not been nearly as active on KVR the last year. Mucking around inside the Receptor can be fun, but I don't get much new music composed that way! :-D

Happy New Year,
John
