It works like this... the links you get when purchasing are sent from Share-it - not from u-he. Those links are only valid for a short period of time - security reasons obviously. The notification from Share-it also includes a "remember to back-up your stuff" - something you will learn after losing shitloads of data (tried it myself - and learned). But ofcourse there are times when you simply never got around to backup the original files, and in those cases there's always the option of emailing support - and most of the times, you'll be met with a friendly chap who'll usually set you up with what you're missing. But - considering the time of year, not that many companies are open for business, so if you haven't already sent an email to anybody at u-he dot com [edited by Urs] I'd suggest you do that - and then get pissed off on january 2nd if there's no response... happy new year

ditto
back up is your responsibility.
This is not a good time of yr to be needing help (esp on weekend)
rest assured, you'll get sorted out, it just might take some time. I believe Urs is getting married any day (may have already) so, even devs have a life.
you should have backed your stuff up.

Response came in less than 3 hours. After I got back from dinner on an otherwise nice Saturday night.metal wrote:get pissed off on january 2nd if there's no response...

OK..SO Both Hands up here. And fingers pointing down===ASSHOLE...That would be me then...There is no graceful way to extricatae myself here.So I will just take it as it is..Also state it as it is...URS was much kinder than I would have ever been to Me today..He sent me what I needed...I won't go into what my frustration is about other than to sum it up like this..Few weeks ago G-5 =DEAD..then External HD=DEAD...Last nite Mac Book Pro=CRASHED....Oh Well, perhaps a blessing in disguise...Not due to a clean instal but rather a well needed slap in the face about what I percieve as reality and what actually IS reality...There is no way to properly apologize here..But I will say I do indeed...So then how does one such as an obvious ass as myself then extend blessings to someone who they respect but have Raged on...And wish them the best on their journey thru life with their loved one...????..But they are my sentiments...So then..Thank you URS for your help..And also,my sincerest of apologies for my out there rant...But most of all..If possible accept my hope for you and wife to be well and inspired all the live long days...JON

Don't sweat it friend, we've all had those really bad days where anything that can go wrong does go wrong.jonkuzma wrote:OK..SO Both Hands up here. And fingers pointing down===ASSHOLE...That would be me then...There is no graceful way to extricatae myself here.So I will just take it as it is..
I personally back up all my music programs and keys onto CD-R media about every month. I don't trust hard drives as I've had the buggers break on me more than once. I have my transmission zip and oldskool zips on one CD-R for just such a situation as you unfortunately had.
Good luck getting your computer back to a working state!

As you've just experienced, U-he has some of the best (if not the best) support in the business.
Hope your system woes are over soon.
