All about the compression, theres a subbass playing 8ths....real simple sitting nicely with a deep kick with a nice low thud/snap.

the lead on top is not in the bass range, playing above the bass varieing in pattern now and again, quite warm not too much in the way of highs but enough, little attack but use of the compressor with say 20-40 ms attack and same release.....

hey DW, the ffp you supplied will not load for me in Twin 1.1 or 1.21. Are you using 1.0?

Probably. I have a few versions depending on which computer I use. Give me a few minutes here to figure it out.

whew,

I had version 1.20 which I don't think was causing the problem.

Any way my web server company would upload the .ffp file unless I wrapped it in a .rar

It is working now, but I messed with the preset a bit on my laptop and then saved it again. So it is not exactly the same. Might be better might be worse.

Thank you very much

After creating this patch I spent the bulk of the day creating the song below.

It gets a little boring, but that's ok, as it's mostly an experiment in production. I mixed it on my headphones, so certain aspects might be out of whack.

Anyway it's my last song of 2007, I'll come back to it during the next few weeks to add some more harmony\melody, maybe some little extra sampled voices to bring out the monotony.

Either way the song was inspired by this very thread!

The only two synth sounds are tweaks of the patch I posted earlier. They are playing the same pattern, just an octave apart.

The drums were all done with Microtonic. I did all the side chaining with the free ReaComp.

Ok, I have a ZebraCM preset.. It's not that good, but I thought I'd upload it.. Layer with a sub bass (you can't make one in zebraCM) if you want..

Hey, sorry for the late response, my pc went crazy on me, anyway...
I made a song (that recently got signed too yey!) and i'll explain what synths i use and etc.

All the sounds in the track were made with minimoog v (lead, pluck sound, bass) quadrasid (another pluck sound) and zebra2 (another pluck)

Somebody earlyer said it's all about the compression, and yes it is ! you just have to balance the bass with the kick and then the pluck sounds.
I'll come back soon and give you the patches you need

i also forgot to say that if you want to get that specific sound you have to play alot with reverb and maybe a slight delay

Here's a couple of sy1 patches and twin patches if anybody wants them: pretty simple. The Synth1 patch I picked up learning from someone around here, but I can't remember from whom.

I'll check out those patches too. I want to see what the Synth1 looks like. I made one for ZebraCM as well but I'd like to make comparisons before I post. I have another pluck type sound that I need help in creating. I'm at work right now so I'll post a sample once I get home.
