Why not a U-he Drum Sampler?

Since I discovered all the u-he toys, I never needed anything else to create the sounds I wanted to create... and I also discovered much more, I mean I also created sounds I never expected to create, even in my most musical dreams. But there's one thing I'm missing: it's something that would be like a Zebra sampling percussions. Of course, you can create very realistic, beautiful and original percussions an drums with Zebra2, but it's not very handy and userfriendly to have so much instances of Zebra2 opened to create only one drum track, and it's also much time wasted to create just a percussive sound. So why not a u-he drum sampler ? ... This would be so cool!!! I'm thinking about this since a certain time, but now I've been disappointed by the support service of the drum sampler I usually use, I find this a very rich idea!!! : no more problems and the best sampler ever made this would be the ultimate solution to me. So if others do think like me, vote for this! an let us convince Urs to create that toy!

Yeah... drums are high on the to-do-list
The concept for these is highly ambitious though. Takes time to even get started...

Just for fun....
A tiny drumtkit for Zebra when in need of a beat for something.
Start playing from C3 and the next 10 notes forward.

I'm actually holding off on buying a drum sampler/synth until it says 'u-he'...Urs wrote:Yeah... drums are high on the to-do-list![]()

I hope it's not something as boring as a drum sampler. Good lord, there are already dozens of those.Urs wrote:Yeah... drums are high on the to-do-list![]()
Please apply your skills to writing the ultimate drum synthesizer.
Victor.

That's right - it's not something as boring as a drum sampler!VicDiesel wrote:it's not something as boring as a drum sampler
Let's put it that way: The sound/synthesis of the drums is less important than the way it is programmed/controlled.
As I can't make a proper decision about sampled vs. synthesized vs. modelled, I guess it'll be all of that.
Look out for it somewhen in Spring 2009 though...

I am SOOO glad you said that, by far the most important part IMO.

Yeah, you could see URS doing a lot of amazing things, drum synth, vocoder, sample synth, etc...
But of course, he's just one (amazing!) guy who can do only so much stuff at one time...
Currently, the only stand alone drum synth I use is Microtonic - Still Love It!!!

I too was only just the other day wondering when Urs was going to do a drum synth based on the Zebra 2 architecture, staring off into space with a dreamy grin at the possibilities...

I actually had thought of that... a drum synth that loads Zebra presets as tracks...k-bird wrote:I too was only just the other day wondering when Urs was going to do a drum synth based on the Zebra 2 architecture, staring off into space with a dreamy grin at the possibilities...
I havn't followed that because it would probably be cpu-overkill. On the other hand... if they were monophonic... with today's machines... hmmm... maybe not the worst idea...
That and the Zebrify FX plugin.
