No sound after a while until reboot

i've been using my receptor for a couple of years now. this weekend, while in the studio recording, i ran into a new issue i've never seen before. it will be working like a champ just fine, and for some reason, every once in a while, it won't produce any sounds any more. no matter what plugin, no sound whatsoever. i'll load a new patch, no sound. if i triple click the power button still no sound. the only thing that brings back the sound is if i shut down then power back on.

has anyone experienced this? it's very disappointing, because i don't want this to happen on stage! at least in the studio i can reboot and take 5 minutes to do so, but on stage that would be terrible.

thanks for any suggestions.

i'm using a receptor rev b, 2gigs ram, 160gig hard drive. was running colossus, pro-53, guitar rig, atmosphere, and glaceverb, all in a multi, when the sound cuts out. i've been running this multi for about a year without any problems.

Hi, Todd:

As I reported in another thread, my Receptor has frozen up several times. In my experience, this usually seems to happen when I change the program while another program is still loading. I get through lots of gigs with no problems, but it does happen from time to time.

However, this seems to differ from your scenario in that when it happens to me it seems to totally lock up and will not respond to patch changes. I don't think it has just stopped making sound while still responding to patch changes. (although when it locks up on stage, I don't tend to spend a lot of time fiddling with it)

As much as I love my Receptor, this is one of the reasons that I tend to use it as an addition to my main synths, rather than as a complete replacement. I just make sure that I have other substitute patches available in the event of one of these lock ups.

Hi Todd

I have the same problem as you, I found out that some times if atmosphere's output overload( on the receptor GUI) the audio output from receptor is dead and you have to close receptor and start up again.

What I do, I put a limiter on insert on the channel where receptor are.
