Filterscape refuses registration under Leopard-Logic8

Hi Urs, Hi you all,

I just buyed a Mac with Leopard and installed Logic Pro 8 on it; everything works fine: no problems with Zebra2 and MFM2, but filterscape refuses me to enter my registration codes; when I try to type them in I just hear a little beep and nothing is typed in the registration form, and when I insist, Leopard finally stops it and tells me to contact u-he.com. This not all: if I want to continue to work with Logic, I must restart my computer. Though the validation test of the audio units is passed succesfully and the three Filterscape units work fine. :?

Please give me a solution to remove that noise every two minuts. :nutter:

Can you register it under another host, like Garageband of the Ableton Live demo?

Howdy Al,

Yep, there is a problem with text input and Apple Leopard and Audio Units. It's not just for registration but preset names as well. Urs has added a hotfix to Z2 and MFM2, my guess is he'll patch it when he returns from NAMM 08 in LA.

The only way I've found to fix this is to load the Filterscape VST in an alternative host like Live, VST Host, energy XT2, or the Reaper Mac beta. You should be able to type in your key. After that the AU will be registered as well.

Don't forget the text box is broken for presets as well. Until it's fixed you should save presets via Logic.

Oh... what about the version in the Leo Hotfixes:

That should certainly work?

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot about those.

Triple Cheese is still borked but I know how little time you have.

Well, It didn't work: when I opened the zip file Leopard automatically installed it, saying it would be opened by Logic8.
But when I started Logic I had a message saying that Logic failed to open it. I tried several other ways to install it but no one did work. A read me file about the installation should be welcome I think, no doubt that then it would work! :(

you need to manually place the AU into: library/audio/plugins/components

Well, I tried this, but it didn't work.

Very weird... do you have a second Filterscape.component in your user location?

I've removed all the Filterscape components of my system and reinstalled them one by one: the result is still the same: they work but I can't register. :smack: :uhuhuh:

Please send me an email. I'll create an authentification file for you.

Edit: I need all details including reg codes as I'm out of town and my MBP doesn't carry your license info...

Cheers,

;) Urs

Thanks for your attentions Urs, but finally i did like suggested by bmrzycki: I've downloaded Ableton Live and installed the VST versions, I registered without any problem and the Audio Units are registered as well.

Everything is fine now, I'm gonna enjoy and make some music. :tu: :band:
