Thanks so much for the update to midiConverter. The additional conversion types are most welcome, what an incredibly useful plugin. I've noticed what might be a bug, but I am too unsure of functionality to be positive. Sliders In1, In2 and Out2 all lack any numerical display. Out1 does have the numbers showing.

Using midiConverter2 as means of stop/starting Manic drum plugin, it was easy to get C3 and E3 to function as the trigger notes. How does one adjust which notes act as triggers?

Post

the In and Out sliders will be blank for certain conversions. In2 and Out2 are only used to select the LSB of NRPN/RPNs. In1 and Out1 aren't used for Program Change, Channel Pressure, Pitch Bend, and Note #.

it might be kind of confusing with the two note modes. Note # means it takes the input note number and applies it to the value of the output message. Note Velocity uses the velocity of the chosen note as the output value.

hey piz do you think it could feasible to add toggle mode to pads and rotary pots or encoders?

did you do something in direction of drag&play?

Post

another little request: if possible, make a cc2toggle plug!

toggle - definitely, will try to put it in the next release
encoders - eventually. i tried to add this a while ago but it didn't work correctly. i'll try again sometime.

not yet.

i'm not sure what you mean by this. what would it do?

i added toggle mode per pad: http://thepiz.org/xt/midiPads20080113.zip

i think i'll add a key modifier for toggle, maybe shift-click... then you could use any pad as a toggle or not, without setting the mode.

CC2TOGGLE: the same of note2toggle but it works with cc's (if cc>64 is recived then the "toggle button" is switched on and off alternatively...

midipads toggle: could you add visual feedback(different color) for toggle on and off?

if the endless encoders doen't work properly yet, you could try to add absolute rotary pots (with rotating image! please!)

... now that the toggle mode is allowed you could make a "mixer-style" midipads preset with 8 or 16 sliders and 3 pads on the top of each slider for mute-solo-pan\efx

i improved the toggle behavior...

- pads use a more contrasting color when toggled on
- shift-click forces a pad to toggle
- better compatibility with mono mode

i noticed that the midipads plug is so slow to load!! is it due to the images?
could you make a midipads version that loads not the images?

and if possible add a "mixer-strips" configuration (like "sliders" but with 3 pads over each slider)

Post

it's a lot slower to load if you have a default bank (midipads.fxb) in the folder with it. this is probably because it uses xml, but that also means you could edit the file (there aren't any line breaks in it though... i should fix that). if you remove midipads.fxb or edit it down to just a few presets, it loads pretty fast.
