What's on YOUR Receptor

...Too bad IK does not play well with Receptor because their effects like T-Racks sound great.
T-Racks and CSR work GREAT on Receptor (install them like I noted in that doc).

SampleTank 2.5 is a no-go for me however.

Miroslav Philharmonik works fine as unsupported (again, the trick is documented).

The older SampleTank and SonicSynth installers on Plugorama work ok...not 100% stable though.

its all down to personal taste - but I have to say that the East/West Bosendorfer is at least as good as Ivory or Akoustik Piano.
It is superb.

You host the picture somewhere (life a free GooglePages ought to work) and use the URL tag.

New user here, just got mine, so all I have on it is Ivory w/IG, Pianoteq, Atmosphere and Trilogy....Ivory kills on this thing...

Wow, I can't believe you are not using Trilogy and Zebra2!?
Phil, broke down and got Zebra2. Wow. It kills. My new favorite synth (on Receptor and elsewhere) !!

(and best of all Urs gave me the dinosaur upgrade discount, though he hasn't posted the pic of my venerable Moog Source on the site yet)

I have about 300 plugins on my Receptor. After years of hardware synths with a limited number of expansion options, I am fascinated by the softsynth world and I went overboard!

I downloaded every free plugin I could get my hands on. I found that most of them worked as long they were just simple DLLs. Most of them are OK. Some are great. I won't list everything on my Receptor, but here are the highlights (free and premium). I'll try to include the vendor name and/or description of some of the more esoteric ones.

Native Instruments: Komplete 4
AAS:Lounge Lizard, Ultra Analog, String Studio
BFD Lite
Ixox Flute (Flute modeler)
Miles'Tone (Trumpet modeler)
Mr Ray 22 (Electric Pianos)
LazySnake (Electric Pianos)
Syntheway: Organux, Strings, Magnus Choir

DSK Brass, Dreamer, Elektrik Keys, Harmonica, KaoS, ZitH, Guitar, Saxophone

4Front: DX7 Piano, Acoustic Piano, Electric Piano, Bass

Raspier (Electric Bass Modeling)

Chameleon 5000

EVE, EMM Knagalis, daHornet, daAlfa2K

Minimogue VA

Delay Lama

Colossus

It's been over a year I've had this, and finally pretty comfortable using it live, even loading singles via the front panel when i don't bring my mac laptop and access it through the remote

for me laptop is 1st way to go since I also use a MOTU 828mkII as a mixer to get multiple mixes to send to me, house, drummer for click etc. and best way to get quick access to both receptor and 828 gui for level settings etc (every room/PA/Monitor config is different!) plus it's the quickest way to do audio routing/patch loading etc that's NOT planned .. i.e. a song pulled out of rear for fun where that perfect sound isn't in your snapshot bank or drummer needs more click, more 1st keyboard and less 3rd keyboard

Pretty much left all the standard pre-installed stuff when the Rev. C was delivered, then added:

Atmosphere
Stylus RMX
B4
NI Komplete 4
Ivory
Minimogue VA
Oddity (wow i love this one)
OP-X
Memorymoon
minimonsta
Oatmeal
Cameleon5000
Crystal
SampleTank II
SH101
Surge (not working fully)
V3 KXOMNI 600 (a cool one! but a little buggy)

Waiting patiently to get:

Arturia -
Arp 2600
Moog Modular
MiniMoog
CS80v

hoping, but not holding my breath for:

Jupiter 8v
maybe the Prophet V/VS .. kinda indifferent on this one

Post

Ihaven't purchased any new plugs since Jupiter 8V, which I have not installed on my Rev C. But I do have and use:
Colossus
EWQLSO - Silver
GPO
JABB
Plugsound Free
Atmosphere
Trilogy
Stylus RMX
Slayer II
Lounge Lizard III
Mr Ray 2.2
B4 II
FM7
Minimogue VA
OBX Pro
sfz

In my main performance setup, I use channels to control a Multi:
Ch1: B4 upper ch2=Colossus Steinway, ch3, LL3 electric piano, ch4=FM7, ch5=MinimogueVA, ch6=B4 lower (don't ask!) ch7=Acoustic Piano w/ Ac Bass from Colossus, ch8=El Pno with ElBass, ch9=el pno with Jaco bass from Trilogy ch10=plugsound Free clav or several other keyboards, 11 is free, ch 12 has a composite patch for pizz strings, arco strings and acoustic piano, and 15 has sfz with a set of patches including some converted Giga horns, jazz guitar, applause, marimba and percussion, etc.

As I mentioned, Im a new owner, I got the pro jr in dec, havent took it out yet, basically just want to use it as a Piano module, which by the way, Ivory and Pianoteq work wonderful. Im sure w/time I will want to add some of these wonderful samples mentioned here. Im curious, how does Mr.Ray sound and work on this? Alot of u guys seem to love it...I have Scarbee on my mac, n Id realy love a minimoog. I really like this so far and will be working it into my live setup soon.

Thx, A.

Mr Ray 2.2 is almost as good as Lounge Lizard 3 for me. Just about as tweakable, and great tone.

I would agree that Mr Ray is on par with Lounge Lizard. I am NOT a fan of Native Instruments Elektrik which is why I downloaded Mr Ray in the first place. If I had to choose one, I'd probably go with Lounge Lizard, but I like having both. And clearly Mr Ray wins out on price!

Post

Am not a great fan of NI, some of their products crash my mac, whereas a lot of other co's products are very stable, so Im a bit leary about loading K2 just to use Scarbee.

I find it so interesting that some of u guys have different multi's setup.
I thought the Rec would huff n puff running a large sample like Ivory, but thats not the case at all, n I did mention that I just got mine...Im going to have to try to understand the different ways u can setup this box. Totally different animal than the mac...

Thx for the info on Mr.Ray..
