Battery 3 available ONLY for Komplete

Hey, what's up with this?!?!

... Battery 3 comes with Receptor Komplete but you can't get an installer for it otherwise. The user install method leads to errors... still Muse Research have found a way to install it on Komplete. Why isn't the installer available for the rest of us that bought Battery 3 off the shelf. Can somebody give a heads up on this, as it seems to be very unfair.

I love my receptor, but I want to customise it with the soft as I see fit. Being discriminated against because I don't want (or need) to buy the whole NI suite with Receptor is not fair... :x

Anybody out there in the same situation. I get the 'bconvert.dll' error ... An installer and/or workaround would be in order from MR... since they obviously know how to get it working on a Receptor! Hope we get heard!! It's not like BAttery was realeased a month ago.

I guess you missed this thread explaining why currently only Muse can install NI apps that use the NI Service Center:

Also read this about "Direct Install" which should fix your problem some type in the first quarter of 2008:

I have not kept up with all the issues with this, since I had K4 installed by muse last summer, BUT:

Muse now has an installer for service center:

read about it: http://www.plugorama.com/downloads/How- ... ceptor.pdf

download it:
http://www.plugorama.com/downloads/inst ... enter.mrpk
(you probably have to be logged in to plugorama before clicking on that link)

So, anyway, once you have service center installed, you can IN THEORY do a user installable trick on anything NI makes that uses service center. I have been successful doing this with Massive (once a maintenance release came out that has a stand-alone massive-only installer), but not with Kontakt3 or GuitarRig3, as documented here:

Direct Install will indeed help. It will allow normal users (as opposed to bumbling amateur hackers like myself) to run windows exe installers directly from the Receptor Remote. This is actually how I got massive to work...by running the EXE via putty (ssh into receptor as root), a method of installing that has been a real blessing! As documented by Kevin L (looneytunes) in this thread:

Martin, I missed that post, thanks for bringing it up. I have to give props to the MR guys if they can pull this off because it will bring Receptor to what it was meant to be in the first place.... a universal plugin player (or as close to it as possible).

I have bought and are used to certain plugs... the idea of going to unfamiliar plugs and spending more money in the process is not something I can entertain.

Hyber... I read what you posted. It sounds good, but even though I'm a bit more adept at computer problems than your average guy, running that scheme still seems a bit risky (for me), especially since you say it voids the warranty. However, if the direct install thing does not solve the problem, I will be taking the putty option into consideration.

I found the instability of the computer frustrating, that's why I moved to Receptor... now I'm stable but I can't use my favorite plugs... that's not a big improvement at all. But if that direct install works, then believe me... I'll be cosidering getting another receptor in the rack :) ... I hope it will work with all installers (msi, exe etc).

quick reply here... I DO have NI service center on receptor... BAttery 3 still does not work.
