Obviously too much panic-typing...
Edit: Ok, here's an updated manual:
http://bj.angeltowns.com/files/zebra/z2 ... manual.pdf (4 megs, right-click to download)
That should take care of most of them...

Just thought I'd give this excellent soundset a bump.. bought it today and I've found it very useful, even though it's set back my plans on doing a soundset for Zebra.. ouch.. good stuff this is

Well that was a bit confusing.
I placed my order for Transmission and Oldskool, got my links and downloaded the zip files. Then I opened the Transmission zip and copied the content into a non-zip folder. For some reason I was getting a bunch of "duplicate file" warnings and ended up with around 600 files which was way too low. After reading the directions about "non-existant" folders I found that WinZip on my work computer was set up to show all files within a zipped folder and ignore the sub folder structure. I have no idea why they would have that as the default setting, but all is good now. I'm really looking forward to this collection. It sounds like it was done the way patch collections should be done, with good controller routings. It is my night to sit with the parents. I'll take a laptop and headphones so I can go though the collection.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

This is indeed a beautiful collection of sounds (I picked it up today right after buying Zebra2 itself). I must have sat there for twenty minutes just immersing myself in "Sub Ether" alone. Very nice work.

----I actually got around to finishing up going through the Transmission presets the other day, and it's a good collection oevrall. I had some kind of probs with 1 or 2 of them, like no sound really happened at all, and a lot of them had a bit much delay and/or reverb (but what synth patches don't really), but underneath (after turning the fx down to about half or so) there were a lot of good and fairly useful tones to be had (and it's a pretty vast collection really, it's not all techno, or pads, or sound fx, or any one thing). I haven't gotten to the templates yet, but those and the skin (I don't even care for the colors that much, but just that's it lighter and freakin' readable ha-ha) certainly make up the difference, even if you are picky about sounds like I kind of am. It's a good value all around, and hopefully it inspires the next *generation* of Zebra sound designers to step it up even further.

Hey, glad you are finding them useful!
Effects levels - yes, these are always a taste thing, and for this reason XY4 is almost devoted exclusively to giving you quick effect level adjustment for wet effects, either for a particular song, or just adjust to taste and save back to the library.
One of the goals was to try and make the sounds as useful to a wide range of people as possible, so if the defaults don't quite work for your needs, then it's simple to tweak and resave - and the same is true for the templates as well...

i'll add a bump to this. can't let that 'oldschool' stuff grab *all* the attention...
excellent collection me thinks. fits very well with the type of stuff i do. i love the attention paid to XY. highly recommended (as well as the 'other' one too).
props to beej. here's to zebra love!

Urs, any update on this feature? Maybe it's time to write up a short update in the roadmap thread so we all don't keep bugging you about our favorite wishlist features.Urs wrote:Uhm...
