Hi all,
Just bought this used Receptor, freshly upgraded to Pro Jr. Spec, with Komplete 5 inside.
Anyhow - there's a host of weird problems here that I am sure are all related.
First - I can open up the Editor, but I cannot access the Receptor's hard drive from Remote Control's window.
So, I tried mounting the hard drive, using all the various methods outlined in the documentation and on Plugorama - no joy. The Receptor simply refuses to show up at all. Trying to force Windows to find it just gives me an error dialog box saying that it can't find my Receptor.
Second - my Receptor can't access the Internet to register Komplete, or any others, for that matter.
Third - oddly enough, things *almost* work in my sequencer (Live 7). Uniwire shows up, I can select banks and programs, etc., etc...the only problem is, there's no audio! I figured out to enable Receptor Audio/MIDI I/O in the Editor, and that does allow me to hear the Receptor using headphones, in its headphone jack (as opposed to my amplifier's). But, it's not sending audio through my sequencer and therefore my monitors.
Anyhow - all this points to some networking issue to me, and probably quite simple to boot.
Please show me how to use this awesome piece of kit!! =)

Hi JSB,
First - Accessign the HD:
You don't have access to the HD from the interface (eg. monitor hooked directly to Receptor), nor from the Receptor remote interface (which is basiclly VPN). What you need to do is access it through some Network protocol on your Mac or PC. If on the Mac, you can Connect to it using the afp://www.xxx.yyy.zzz or smb://www.xxx.yyy.zz (where www.xxx.yyy.zzz is the IP address). On a PC, you should be able to connect to it through the Network wizard (should appear in a zone could 'Muse').
Second - Please re-read the README or instructions for registering Komplete on Receptor. You should be following Service Center's "Offline Registration' procedures. Basically what you do is Write a file with SC's challenge data, then you copy that over to some PC connected to the internet, and email it to NI. They will email a response file of some sort, and you will put that somewhere on Receptor (or copy some codes back into SC -- I can't remember which).
I'm not so sure about the Third issue. You should check your Uniwire settings to see if You've configured audio to return via Uniwire. In general, re-read the uniwire instructions to make sure you have the Uniwire plugin configured correctly.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your new kit!

Kevin L

Hi there,
OK! Thanks for the prompt reply! =)
So, my reply now :
As for UniWire in my sequencer, for some strange reason, lowering my M-Audio Audiophile 24/96's sample rate to 64, and therefore lowering UniWire's too, caused the sounds to magically appear. Don't know how or why that is, but there you go. I haven't figured out how to use the Receptor as an effects plug-in yet (no audio seems to go through), but I'm sure that'll come as I read more.
Thanks!

Ah - my problem precisely. See, it DOESN'T appear. I can't get it to, and I know I'm doing something wrong, and it's just some box I've got to check somewhere or something...=)looneytunes wrote: On a PC, you should be able to connect to it through the Network wizard (should appear in a zone could 'Muse').
OK - I honestly made every effort to be thorough and to read everything, but I haven't found the README that specifically deals with Komplete registration in my Documentation folder.looneytunes wrote: Second - Please re-read the README or instructions for registering Komplete on Receptor. sometimes i don't see receptor from my laptop. my solution is either to use the RefreshNetworkAddress tool (in the same directory on your laptop/computer as your Receptor remote) and then it sees it, or i boot up my laptop before turning on my receptor.
are you connecting via ethernet? make sure you are using a CROSSOVER ethernet cable, not the standard kind.
if that doesn't work, open a case with muse support (off of the plugorama website). i've found them to be VERY helpful.
good luck
