i wish there were a better way to inset my ilok into the front of the receptor. i wish the ilok would insert further. i'm concerned i will accidently break or bend the ilok in its USB slot. am i over worrying? has this ever happened to anyone?

I keep mine plugged into the back!MyMusic42 wrote:i wish there were a better way to inset my ilok into the front of the receptor. i wish the ilok would insert further. i'm concerned i will accidently break or bend the ilok in its USB slot. am i over worrying? has this ever happened to anyone?
And I take it out and put in somewhere else when traveling.
I'm afraid I will one day misplace it on the way to a gig...

i also have it in the back, but my receptor is in a 19" flightcase which is big enough to just let everything connected... I basically just roll the cables and put them in the back without unplugging. My soundcard is also in the rack and it's connected with nice n short cables, no unplugging needed also.

Belkin makes a sort of flexible adapter that you can plug the I-Lok into that bends 90 degrees and then plugs into the Receptor. This allows the I-lok to be flush against the Receptor so you can secure it to the back of the Receptor with velcro. Very cool and you can pick them up cheap at Staples. (Office Max doesn't carry them. Don't know about Office Depot.)
Useful anywhere you don't want a USB drive sticking straight out of something, like the S90ES or a laptop, etc.

It's easy to open up you Receptor (9 screws), disconnect the front USB port (2 screws), and tape your iLok safely inside.

Hi Everyone,
Along the lines of what Norman said ...
I believe Muse also offers a mod to 'reverse' the front-panel USB port, and secure your ilok from the inside.
Of course, the downside of this is that you would need to open up your Receptor to unplug your ilok and add authorizations to it.

Kevin L
